Vote: Bollywood’s Best Action Hero

Action movies are all the rage lately in Bollywood and almost every top star has featured in one massy-action film.

But who is the best action hero in Bollywood today? Here are the nominees.

• Akshay Kumar – The Khiladi! Need we say more? From being written off by the critics at the beginning of the year, Akshay has once again emerged as a box-office force to be reckoned with. Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore are two of the biggest grossers of 2012.
• Salman Khan – Unarguably enjoying the best phase of his career, Salman has only done action-masala films in the last couple of years. This year too, he has two similar films lined up for release – Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2. Is he the best action hero in Bollywood today?
• Shahrukh Khan – He’s the king of romance, but SRK has also excelled as an action hero. In the last decade, the superstar has featured in action films like Don, Ra One and to a certain extent Main Hoon Na.
• Hrithik Roshan – Almost every time Hrithik has done action, his films have been hugely successful at the box-office. Dhoom 2, Krrish and this year’s Agneepath.
• Aamir Khan – It’s Aamir who started the trend of South Indian action remakes with Ghajini. Next year, he returns as an action hero with Dhoom 3.
• Ajay Devgan – He started his career with action, then did some serious films and returned last year to cash-in on the trend. Singham was one of the biggest hits of his career.
• John Abraham – The turning point in John’s career was the first film in the Dhoom series way back in 2004. Since then, the actor has appeared in just one action film Force.

Other actors who deserve a mention, but haven’t delivered a solo action hit in a long time – Amitabh Bachchan, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Dharmendra, Jackie Shroff and many more. Each actor a legend, but including these names would be unfair, as they probably won’t get enough votes.

Two movie DVDs of the actor who wins the poll will be given away to one lucky winner. For example, if Akshay Kumar wins, DVD’s of two of his best films will be given away in the last week of June!
