Barfi has opened to a fantastic start at the box office on Friday. The film has exceeded all expectations at multiplexes, as the occupancy is on-par with Cocktail, a film with a similar target audience.
The opening is likely to push Ranbir Kapoor into the big league, as a opening this huge wasn’t expected out of a film like Barfi. The press screening earlier this week and the positive reviews that followed, has also helped.
Most night shows at premium multiplexes are already sold out. Expect big numbers tomorrow – could be anywhere in the 9-10 crore range. That’s huge for a film like Barfi.
