Bajrangi Bhaijaan was rock-steady on its 3rd Friday, as the film collected Rs 4.11 crore at the domestic box office. The film has now crossed the 275 crore mark, and should eventually get past the Rs 286 crore total of Dhoom 3 on Sunday, to become the 2nd highest grosser of all time.
The Salman Khan film was competing against ‘Drishyam’ in its 3rd week. While ‘Drishyam’ was leading in the morning, the occupancy for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ at several centres was higher.
The PK record is now out of reach for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, but the film should cross the 300 crore mark by the end of its third week.
Back in 2012, Ek Tha Tiger fell just short of the all-time record of 3 Idiots. Bajrangi Bhaijaan too is expected to finish with lifetime business of around 325 crore, about 5% short of PK’s record.

Drishyam is niche film and no one was expecting a bumper opening. .even Ajay himself said he is not expecting Drishyam to collect 150 cr..besides if you don’t know what kind of movie is Drishyam, its a thriller, and those kind of movies ain’t earn much money at the box office.
You compared Drishyam with Salman Khan’ s BB opening day?? Well, every one knows that Salman khan is the biggest supper star in India and with out him a lot of workers especially those who work Book My Show wouldn’t survive. :-[

@Yuvraj, screen count doesn’t matter in Week 3. It’s about the number of theatres and Bajrangi Bhaijaan is still running at every single multiplex where it released.
Screen count doesn’t matter because a PVR multiplex in Juhu with 6 screens, will be playing Bajrangi Bhaijaan on a minimum of 3 screens i.e 15 shows in first week. In Week 3, the number of shows reduces and so does the number of screens.

There is booking of South Indian and other film industries too. Our business from Bollywood is about 10%.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan was also a family film, it was not an action thriller or anything of that sort. Like Babaji said.. even Raja Natwarlal took at bigger opening.

Once and for all, I might be the happiest fan for BB going to cross 300 Crores even though not breaking PK’s records as I was expecting BB doing just over 250 Crores. It has exceeded my expectation by slowly becoming the only second 300 crores film.
PK was promoted as the returns of 3Idiots Jodi Aamir-Raju, while BB was more promoted as a Salman’s movie….
PK had Xmas and many Holidays, while BB’s holidays fell on Weekends…
PK had three weeks free run, while BB has been competing with Bahubali in every region and now Drishyam has been released….
BB ticket price was lowered since first Monday…
Besides, Aamir does movie in a year or two, while Salman does two movies a year.
Having said that, PK deserves to be at the top.

hai romance dilwale fan,who told u ghajini n dabang not atbb?from 2001-2008december,no film collected 85+ n ghajini came n cross it in just 10days n became 100cr.dabang was also atbb bcz eid was not big rather off reason at that time,close to 140-150 in 2010 was tough without diwali or christmas and extra ordinary content.the people of boi know better than u.check wiki,imdb,indicine.u reduce salman n aamir’s atbb bcz srk has less.why was kkhh(1998) atbb though collected 45 only with salman’s help after 4years ofhahk(70cr).
If bb do like bahubali in week day so definately crossed the pk recored but movie 3 cr se niche na jaye till fourth nd five week..then bb crossed lets see wht happing today nd tommorrow…!!
