Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani is on course to be a clean hit at the box office, as the film has sustained well in its second weekend. The trend isn’t outstanding and the film did have the potential to perform better, especially on the big holiday for Christmas.
But considering the competition from a big film like Dilwale and pre-release expectations, Bajirao Mastani has emerged as the winner in the much-hyped clash.
Bajirao Mastani should add around 20-25 crore to the total during the weekdays.

The trend is not exceptional because the movie is not brilliant . But those people who have seen both movies will find BM as a classic considering the content of Dilwale . So SLB and Eros have done a great job by sticking to this date and now they are getting rewards for this . According to me BM will be the 3rd Highest Grosser of 2015 and before the clash some people did not even expected 100 CR . I am happy that people are willing to see different kind of movies and that too on Festivals . But for me BM is not a brilliant movie nor a masterpiece . Its a ok movie that could have been better .

@indicine I don’t mean to be rude but why are you downplaying BM success at the box office when all others have given the film a thumbs up. It has clearly emerged the better of the two films and I am a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due. Dilwale only survived because of SRK it was a very poor film from all reports I can’t give a verdict on Dilwale because I never watch SRK and that would be not the thing to do but the rejection of the film was obvious.
Could never beat Dilwale world wide total of 350 Plus. King of clashes is always winner. In india it will be more by a small margin of 5% net gross BUT that will be due to anti SRK political parties fanatic vote bank
Bajirao is set to become the only film apart from 3Idiots to cross 160cr mark at the box office in less than 2600 screens.. !!!

Thats a rare achievement for a film like BM. first time in Bollywood content won against stardom. Happy to see BM crossing Dilwale its very good for bollywood.Now BM is looking or a 165cr+ LT and Dilwale will finish below 150cr(though expected 200cr).

People cribbing about Dilwale under-performing due to negativity spread by anti SRK group and show cancellation are just keen to find excuses for the flick’s debacle
Dilwale was poor on content and thats the truth

However still some films do under-performs and that because of their subject/theme
