Bajirao Mastani Official Collections on 18 December

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani has done very well on Day 1 at the domestic box office, by collecting Rs 12.81 crore net. The officially reported screen count is 3050.

The film faced tough competition from Dilwale, which had a massive star cast featuring the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Varun Dhawan. But the boost that ‘Baahubali’ gave to this genre, along with the fact that the second theatrical trailer was unanimously liked, helped Bajirao Mastani withstand competition from one of the biggest films of 2015.

However, like we have mentioned in other box office reports, Bajirao Mastani is an expensive film. A film made on a budget of Rs 120 crore, has to collect 15 crore plus at the very least. Factors aside, Bajirao Mastani is about 20% less than where it should have been on Day 1 and the business that it lost because of competition, has to be recovered in the coming days.

Which is why, Saturday will be extremely crucial for the Ranveer Singh – Deepika Padukone starrer. It has opened well in the morning today, but anything less than 15 crore will mean the film will find it extremely difficult to recover costs.

#IndicineFBO: We predicted that Bajirao Mastani would collect somewhere around 11.5 crore on Day 1, the film has collected Rs 12.81 crore net. It’s an accurate prediction, the difference between official figure and our prediction is 10%.

  • I wonder wat the haters will say for the official figures of BM. They want to accept 12.81 cr but not the official screen count. It’s hilarious if we need jokers for an even just come to indicine and search in comments for these cartoons. Read the official release 3050 screens and take it. Now when Dilwale releases u will say manipulation rofl. Why would Eros make a mistake in screen count oh yes may be as it doesn’t satisfy ur argument that in 3050 screens its collecte only 12.

Now Dilwale with minimum SS and max to max can get 3000 screens did 21 minimum .

  • Screen count for both the films is exaggerated. India has 10 k screen around 4500+ screens are reserved for regional films. It leaves screen count 5000 to 5200.
My Estimation says about screen count is:
    Dilwale- 3000
    BM- 2200

  • collection jo v ho u cant miss bajiraao mastani..faddu dialouges, natural(real) grand sets, unbeatable background music, and specialy unbelievable emotion scenes….i have no word to describe it..one of the best epic made by slb..thank u sir…And bloody!! ranveer singh, u kill it yaar…No one can better act than u in entine industry…also my black lovly cat PC,boiled it by his emotions..

  • First day dilwale 21 cr loot gaye dilwale ..indicine your week scenrio start 24cr but dilwale ka to us se bhi kam h 1 day ka collection means dilwale do 150 cr

  • TOP 5 OPENING DAY – 2015:

    #PRDP ? 40.35 cr,
    #BajrangiBhaijaan ? 27.25 cr,
    #Dilwale ? 21 cr,
    #SinghIsBliing ? 20.67 cr,
    #Brothers ? 15.20 cr

Salman occupies in both 1 and 2 positions.

  • Dilwale did very well on day with collections of 21.50 crore nett. Although it does not compare well with some of the biggest openers but that is because of less screenings due to the clash and on top it was not even a holiday. The film did put up some big numbers in East India and South India. South India was best especially Nizam / Andhra and Tamil Nadu / Kerala

The core belts of Mumbai, Delhi /UP, East Punjab and Central India were at least 40-50% lower than they should have been due to limited screenings. It had big leads over Bajirao Mastani apart from Maharashtra where Mumbai city and Pune city saw both films put up similar collections.

The film does have scope for improvement as it lost some business due to disruptions in a few states and as long as there is no repeat it should have better collections in the areas. The areas where it has done very well will find it hard to improve. The disruptions which lead to shows being cancelled in many parts also affected business so those areas can make ground if everything is okay on Saturday

    As per trade – 21.50cr
    As per producer – 21cr

    P.k without any clash 25cr (4000 screens)
Bajrangi without any clash – 26cr(4000 scrns)

    SRK the king of clashes

  • So finally come dilwale 1st day 21 cr …indicine both prediction failed ..first day nd hit-flop-blockbuster

  • According to SALMIR fans collecting 12cr (3050) is BIGGER than 22cr(3200)…. Truth is they illiterate thats why they blindly supporting Killer salman

  • As expected, good collections for BM and it will surely give a much tougher competition in days to come.

it’s good for Bollywood that a classy movie like BM is being appreciated and preferred over a thrashy crappy shit like ‘bekaarwale’ .

  • As expected, good collections for BM and it will surely give a much tougher competition in days to come.

it’s good for Bollywood that a classy movie like BM is being appreciated and preferred over a thrashy crappy shit like ‘bekaarwale’ or ‘bakwaaswale’ or whatever.

  • Alok Nath’s honest take about both these movies

    A. On release date of both the films-
I feel Dilwale should have released on 18th and BM shd have taken any other date.I am not a SRK fan but for the sake of hindi film industry Dilwale had a better chance of utilizing the christmas holiday considering star cast, director and the genre. Even in best case BM wouldn’t have collected more than 20cr. on day and 65cr. over the weekend. On the other hand, Dilwale had serious chance of collecting 30cr+ and 100 cr over the weekend.

    B. Movie Review:
BM is good but not great as Indicine said its no Baahubali. All movie goers do watch it once on big screen of multiplex for the grandeur, scale and acting.

Dilwale is a time pass movie made only to break opening records. Khichdi may provide something for everyone but not everything to any and at the end you will feel hungry.Watch it on a single screen with an intention to have a good time.

    C. Box office prediction:

Dilwale will definitely collect much more than BM. I hope the gap is not too huge. If the gap is around 50 cr it would be a very good result for everyone associated with the movie.

    Final words,
Dilwale- SRK you are a very capable actor pls stop working with Farah, Shetty etc.I will be waiting for your FAN and Raees.

Sanjay leela Bhansali- No one in hindi film industry can capture grandeur and art like you do but it would be nice to spend more time on story and screenplay.

  • List of Dilwale shows cancelled due to no audiences:
    Mumbai 87
    Pune 60
    Bangalore 68
    Nagpur 46
    Delhi 103
    Kolkata 17
    Ahmedabad(also protests) 55
    Patna 38

Srk doesnt have die hard fans anymore.

  • Interesting stat: 10th day collections of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN (24 cr) with competition from Bahubali were better than 1st day collections of DILWALE (21 cr)

All year SRK fans were busy and absolved in how to bring Salman and his films down that today they’ve been left naked with Dilwale opening

    BODUGUARD – 21.25C (2800 Screen- 2011)
    #Dilwale – 21.50 (3100 screen + highest rate 2015)

  • Most agree that BM will last the distance unlike ‘U-TurnWale’ which is a very poor mans or car fetish freaks poor version of a classic- HUM….!

  • Indicine you were calling dilwale the biggest release of the year yesterday.. today it becomes one of the biggest huh…great work indicine promoting ur sarook as much as possible and today after looking its downfall trying to save it..thumbs up for u..

  • Agar Dilwale flop bhi hogaye toh u cant say anything against SRK lovers bcuz they bark well. Maximum 150cr Mark my word.
