Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani has finally overtaken Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale on Day 12 at the box office, as the film has now collected Rs 131.46 crore in 12 days since its release – as against the 129.5 crore (approx) business of Dilwale.
It’s a huge victory for ‘Team Bajirao Mastani’ as the film was never expected to get close to Dilwale, let alone beat the domestic business of the film.
The Ranveer Singh starrer has remained steady during the working weekdays and the growth should come on Thursday (New Year eve) and Friday (New Year). Bajirao Mastani is also leading Dilwale at almost every multiplex in India and exhibitors have rewarded its good performance with plenty of prime-time shows in Week 3.
There are no major film releases in the first week of January, so Bajirao Mastani will continue to remain the first choice for the audience.
The drop from the first week to second will be around 35-36%, the excellent hold was because of the Christmas holidays. But even if Bajirao Mastani has a normal drop of around 65% in Week 3, it could collect 20 crore in Week 3 – taking the three week business of the film to around the 160 crore mark.
Bajirao Mastani should finish with lifetime business of around Rs 170 – 175 crore net. The overseas collections are also excellent and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. The film will be a profitable venture for all involved.

bajirao mastani is like Tanu weds manu of kangana , ashiqui2 of aditya, bajarangi bhaaijan of salman, barfi of ranbir kapoor and etc…. it’s what happened when a movie got tremendous WOM otherwise
when we minus content than became jai ho of salman , revolwer raani of kangana, Bombay velvet of ranbeer kapoor , dawate ishq of aditya Roy and kill dil of Ranveer Singh and you know what luckily Ranveer Singh and bhansali got content against dilwale like bajarangi bhaaijan & Tanu weds manu but still ww king khan rock wid lots of negative factor around it ;)

Airlift will get 500+ screens in overseas market if we compare it with baby 280 special 26 (250+) then it is a pretty healthy number….
As I said earlier airlift can be a huge grosser in overseas if given a right release….and makers are doing the same thing.. Fingers crossed

Overseas??? If he is really a global star, the overseas exhibitors would have to allocate Dhobiwale more no matter who has distributed the film, Eros or others.
