Bajirao Mastani continued its steady run at the box office on Day 11 (2nd Monday). The film will recover its costs in the next couple of days, as it has also performed well in the overseas markets.
Bajirao Mastani is now looking at lifetime business of 160 plus, which would be excellent considering the fact that it released with one of the biggest films of 2015, Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale.
The film is now the highest grosser of Ranveer Singh’s career and also the second universally successful of Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Devdas.

Azharuddin biopic 13th May 2016 .. Waiting
Lut Gaye Dilwale.
very good
srk’s ego destroyed by slb
This movie will get super hit status sure now. And dilwale flop or average…! SRK fans u can dislike but truth is truth so hit dislike i dont caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare
Awesome movie…. A must watch at ONLY theatres…
Congratulations to team Bajirao Mastani…very happy for ranveer Singh
So BM exceeded all the prediction and estimation of this clashing.Beating Dilwale on 10th day at the boxoffice. Very well deserved victory.
Finally got a chance to watch BM on Saturday. BM wasn’t in my list for the movies I want to watch this year, I definitely have sympathy for Bhansali who was forced by every one in trade to avert the clash but the brilliant trailer excited to watch but due to family casualty couldn’t watched in first weekend.
I was slightly hasitated to watch the movie when I selected Single screen to watch the flick. There were hardly 20-25% audience in the theatre. But must say what a brilliant experience of watching the film.
The film is undoubtedly the best film of the year for me, from story to screenplay, direction, acting, music and background score as well as cinematography all were top class. The film took me in the era of Mughlas-Marathas period. Brilliant sets were icing on the cake.
Ranveer singh has delivered performance to his lifetime, deserves every single award this year for best actor. He has able to show every aspect of Bajirao life. His expressions, body language, dialogue delivery all were top notch. Deepika once again delivered a power packed performance after Piku, she is looking extremely gorgeous and performed equally well. Priyanka was also superb with Kashibai act. All the other supporting cast did their act superbly.
First half of the film is flawaless, not a single dull moment and story moves quickly. Second half start with slow note for first 10min but after than it got the required pace and reached the extremely sad and painful climax which was brilliantly written and wonderfully executed by all the cast.
No word is enough to describe SLB direction, most of the time we see that Dream projects were got bombed at box office but SLB changed everything with this film, his direction was outstanding. He able to extract best of the performance from entire crew with each department barring 1-2songs. Background music is outstanding and adds to drama well.
I have very high expectation with the film after watching the trailer, and the film met all my expectation. This is best film for me this year surpassing Bahubali, as not only the film is brilliantly made but also touched the heart.
4.5/5 from my side, every person in the theatre liked the film, they were calm and unmoved till the films ends. Never expected this kind of reaction of Single Screen audiences with this kind of film.
P.S.- Those who thinks that I rated BM higher just because it clash with dilwale after reading my review, I want to clarify that I have given unbiased review and I literally loved the film.
SLB is relif now he has not just taken revenge but also given tight slap to arrogant actor (SRK) he is not superstar more so dont call him superstar who has lost matched with y-gen. shame shame big shame
@ indicine how much DS required for a hit ??? In todays span…i hope i will get answer…
WHAT IS A HIT?
Today the scenario is totally changed as distributors pay a huge premium as its all about two weeks and not years. A films verdict is depended on how well it does theatrically. For big budget films a 4 crore share would mean blockbuster in 1970 and in 1995 it was the 20 crore mark, today (2010) its nearly 50 crore. The trade and media tend to bring prices in to put up a perception and then for another film the price factor goes away as a different perception is being put up. A film can be purchased at a Blockbuster price but may do only Super Hit business so therefore lose money but the fact remains it has done Super Hit theatrical business, just the distributor overpaid. If this film has a good perception with the media then it will called success and if perception is not good then the losses will be talked about.
A Ghajini was purchased at a Blockbuster price and managed All Time Blockbuster business and if this film was to be judged on distributor return then it would be an Above Average fare but the level of its theatrical performance is far more important then the huge premium paid by the distributors.
The budgets, deals which go on behind the scenes are very different and have many clauses which are different for each film. It is also difficult to judge a film on budgets as movies like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Three Idiots only have a production budget of 25 crore and 30 crore respectively as there were profit sharing deals with main leads and with director as well for Three Idiots so you can’t put a budget to these films as you can with some others. Also nobody apart from producer and distributor know the exact details of a deal. The one constant for every film is theatrical business be it Domestic or International. Every film has two verdicts one for Indian theatrical and one for International theatrical.
SRK fans come on and bark here….!
but
truth is Dilwale is average to flop..!
Meanwhile watched Dilwale too yesterday. Wasn’t expected too much after the review came and the way film performed in Indian market.
Dilwale is a time pass entertainer, strictly one time watch. Film is equally decent in both parts. Though I loved the comedy portions which includes Varun dhawan-Varun sharma and others. Srk-Kajol love story is not much convincing though both looking great with each other even in this film. The plot is simple with slight twist that Kajol was cheating srk initially, except that everything falls flat and predictable. Songs were good.
Performance wise Both SRK-kajol were good, they were brilliant in some scenes and preety mediocre in some other scenes, lacked consistency. Kriti was alright and looking preety. Varun dhwan was superb in comedy scenes but was over the top throughout the film specially in emotional scenes, need to work hard on emotional scenes though he was definitely better in Badlapur in emotion scenes. Varun sharma,Johnny lever and Sanhay mishra were superb. Boman Irani is wasted again. The last action scenes outside of church is unnecessary and irritates so as boman performance. Rest cast are decent.
Ramlal-Pogo story definitely the best part in comedy scenes.
Rohit shetty was preety good as director but he failed big time in comedy-action scenes, looking very repetitive though in romantic scenes he was alright. Need to change his approach in unnecessary car flying scenes and repetitive punches.
Overall Dilwale a time pass film nothing to shout for.
Better than HNY and way below the CE. 2.5/5 from my side.
As far as BO, I think it collected what it actually deserves, with solo release it can collect close to 200cr or may be more. Srk intolerance comment harmed the collection around 10 cr in weekend but after that its the nothing new type of content who stopped his run especially when you have a brilliant film like BM in competition.
Though srk-kajol charm collecting huge in overseas, let’s see will it surpass srk highest grosser in overseas which also starred srk-kajol Mnik.
Just go back 2 months on Indicine & read comments on BM articles & laugh.
samples:-
1.Dilwale will thrash BM.
2.SLB doing biggest mistake of his life.
3.After BM SLB will be on road.
4.SLB ruining career of Ranveer,DP & PC.
5.Eros will be shut down after debacle of BM.
6.After 3days BM will be thrown out of the theaters & Dilwale will get all screens.
& many more ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Blockbuster BAJIRAO
Disaster Dilwale
Good film but collections are starting to fall now. Deserved better. Definately was second best film commercial film of 2015 after BB and clash with dilwale and star wars has hurt big time. 160cr lifetime is low considering the cost and wom it got.
Having said thatNo doubt the film will sweep all major awards next year which should be another plus.
That’s why never underestimate your rival
Its always there that one day pride and ego will come to a halt and thats what happened to SRK. Bajirao mastani indeed succeded in this battle because people now a days are smart where to put their money.no doubt ,dilwale was entertaining a bit but content itself was the case of BM.so,Hats off to Bhansali sir for such a vision.
Blockbuster BAJIRAO = 160cr+
Disaster Dilwale = 135cr
Shall i show u the link where u had written bm needs 160cr+ to become superhit…!!!
i have distroyed the Dilwale and my next target is FAN, RAees and Dangal i will distroye it to when they will release, as u guys remember my name SUSH..!
very good for bm

Amir:- Yaar teri dilwale nahi chali, meri dangal chaligi kya
SRK:- saale kimne sab teri biwi k chakar me huwa hai.
Amir:- see dangal will break my PK record,
SRK:- ab mai yeha Ranveer se haar gaya hu aur tu pk ka record thodega..Lol..! ja biwi ko leke America…!
BM collected 4.75$ n Dilwale collected 17 $
Just in 10 days
today it will be ahead of dilwale.
DILWALE is the winner of this clash…….if there’s no nonsense that happening in india Dilwale will easily beat bm ….by looking at the overseas collection dilwale 110 cr and bm 29 cr see where the slb can stand…..no protes no lunatics on the road blocking people from seeing dilwale ….overseas people loving the dilwale and not boring historic movie….even Hollywood much2 better than bm…..so for overseas people bm is nothing special ……..dilwale rockkkkkkk???????????
Bajrao mastani isn’t “flopwale”. Happy for BM team.
I a srk fan accept the defeat but it’s good as now srk will think twice before making masala entertainers and focus on content oriented movies.
and request to all please watch airlift it’s gonna be a masterpiece
What about One of the biggest film of 2015 then??
below 2 crore??
Revenge of Sanjay lila bansali
Indicine please tell me ..how it is universally successful ? BM just crossed 200 cr worldwide and Dilwale is ready to cross 300 cr worldwide. Dilwale is not more universally successful than BM ?
