Baahubali 2 vs Robot 2

2015 will be remembered as a year when two major Hollywood films, Fast and Furious 7 and Jurassic World, became the first to collect more than 100 crore at the Indian box office. It will also be remembered as the year when a dubbed regional film matched the might of Bollywood films – what with ‘Baahubali’ becoming the first Hindi dubbed film to collect 100 crore in India.

The next couple of years could pose a big threat to the Hindi film industry, as two big films ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘Robot 2.0’ are scheduled to release in theatres. Both are potential 200 crore grosser and the budget of both those films is likely to be more than the production costs of some of the biggest Hindi films, featuring the biggest superstars in the country.

Akshay Kumar’s presence in ‘Robot 2.0’ will ensure pan-India appeal and the makers might opt to shoot the film in multiple language, thereby further increasing the appeal of the film.

There were reports earlier that it could be Arnold Schwarzenegger in Robot 2.0, but like we mentioned in one of our articles, it makes much better business sense to cast a top Bollywood superstar against Rajnikanth.

Since Indian films that belong to the superhero / action genre find it difficult to find an audience outside India, the value that Akshay adds to ‘Robot 2.0’ will be immensely helpful in increasing the footfalls in the domestic market. Also, top banners in the Hindi film industry haven’t really utilised Akshay’s talent or given him the big action films that he deserves. It’ll be interesting to watch him share screen space with the legendary Rajnikanth and also take him on as the main villain in the film.

Moving on to the directors of the two films, SS Rajamouli and Shankar have emerged as two directors from the south, who can do justice to mega-budget films. Their track record is terrific, what with most of their films going on to be the highest grossers of all time. Rajamouli has received several offers from Bollywood producers and corporate houses, but he has rejected all of them. Shankar too works on his own terms and prefers to work in his own film industry.

Coincidentally, the shooting of both films began at the same time. While Robot 2.0 / Enthiran 2.0 went on floors yesterday, the shooting schedule of Baahubali 2 began in Hyderabad today.

Which of the two films interests you more? Since most would pick both, that option won’t be available. Make a choice and pick one!

  • both movies stunt or war sequence are copied in Hollywood while bahubali war scene is copied from brave heart Hollywood movie

  • It is a fight between Rajamouli Vs Rajni/Akshay/Shankar/Rahman. All the four has to fight with Rajamouli. Regarding the direction, Shankar is no way comparable to Rajamouli. Shankar’s films always roam around one theme i.e. corruption. If he makes movies without that theme, only luck has to save him. But you give any story to Rajamouli, he will make it a block buster.

  • Guys we can’t decide which is great, both are really great , the only thing which we can appreciate is the hard work of these greatest directors. Rajamouli sir hard work and Shankar Sir bringing special effects from all over the world are immense respectable

  • Bahubali 2 any time because I believe in content I can’t watch movie with same story and with different cast but I do hope rajamouli sir would cast Bollywood stas as a guest role in bahubali 2

  • bahubali 2 is great but bad story line but Shankar bring vfx or graphics than rajamouli what were is Shankar is great I am waiting for roboy2.0

  • robot 2 gross 1000 crore no doubt and bahubali could gross because both movies are a mega budget and megastars. But i more support robot 2 because in the movie the villain is action ka baap akshay kumar

  • always robo 2 let me explain .the bahuballi story is just old story book story an past king story refer to that story books the scene which was there in bahuballi is all in the hollywood mobie watch the hercules properly .and directors part was noyhing in bahuballi .but in the robo it was new to.indian film ds was not dubbed by english actually shankar sir approached this story long back of the year but because of budget he cant make that thats y he did the movie later. in bahuballi nothing is there except that last fight if we jst remove that fight.nothing is there in that

  • Bahubali 2 willeasly creash robo as it did in first part… Bahubali is INDIAN culture and its our movie, where as ROBO 2, PK, and rest are making fun of our movies and copying Hollywood movies.

Mark my words and see the result.. no khan trio is required and no hindi hero is required to make good collections par india..

from Kashmir to kanyakumari people are waiting for Bahubali 2…

  • Firstly robot 2 cannot break bahubali 2 record but if it breaks bahubali 2 record then ss rajamouli movie MAHABHARATA will break the record of 2.0 because mahabharata is ahead of 2.0 in all aspects
Budget of robot 2 is 400 crore
Budget of Mahabharata is 1000 crore
Stars in robot 2 is Akshay kumar + Rajinikanth
Stars in Mahabharata is Shahrukh khan + Salman khan + Aamir khan + Amitabh bachchan + Rajinikanth + Hrithik roshan + Ajay devgan and may be Akshay kumar
Now both have Rajinikanth so Rajinikanth is cancelled with Rajinikanth and how can akshay kumar alone pull more crowd than srk, sallu,mr perfectionist, big b,hrithik, ajay together and possibly akshay kumar can also come so that means
    Srk,sallu,aamir,big b,hrithik,ajay vs nobody
Budget of mahabharata is higher than Lord of the rings (97 million $),game of thromes and 300 so it has better vfx than those and the last and most important thing is that Mahabharata is inspired by the best Indian movie of all time MAYABAZAR(1957)

  • I recently came across this blog post comparing Baahubali 2 and Robot 2, and I must say, it was a fascinating read! Both movies are absolute blockbusters in their own right, but I have to give it to Baahubali 2 for its sheer scale and grandeur. The visuals are breathtaking, and the story is engaging from start to finish. However, I do think that Robot 2 had a stronger cast, with actors like Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar delivering debut performances. Overall, it’s a tough call, but I think Baahubali 2 just edges out Robot 2 by a hair. Great job on the comparison!

  • CBD exceeded my expectations in every way thanks. I’ve struggled with insomnia on years, and after infuriating CBD like cbd thc oil in the course of the prime time, I lastly practised a busty evening of restful sleep. It was like a arrange had been lifted misled my shoulders. The calming effects were calm yet intellectual, allowing me to meaning afar uncomplicatedly without sensibilities groggy the next morning. I also noticed a reduction in my daytime angst, which was an unexpected but acceptable bonus. The tactfulness was a flash earthy, but nothing intolerable. Whole, CBD has been a game-changer inasmuch as my slumber and anxiety issues, and I’m appreciative to procure discovered its benefits.

  • I completely agree with your analysis! Baahubali 2’s grandeur and grand scale was unmatched, but Robot 2’s special effects left me amazed too. The comparison is indeed a tough one, but I think Baahubali 2’s emotional connect and storytelling edged it out for me. Would love to see more such comparisons on your blog!

  • I loved the comparison of Baahubali 2 and Robot 2. I was surprised to see how Robot 2’s VFX was way ahead of Baahubali 2’s grand sets and costumes. The scene where Akshay Kumar’s character transforms into a robot was mind-blowing! However, Baahubali 2’s emotional depth and screenplay were superior. Overall, a great post!
