Baaghi has recorded the 3rd highest opening of 2016, only behind films like Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN and Akshay Kumar’s Airlift. FAN released on a partial holiday, so on real-value, the opening of Baaghi is only about 20-25% lower than the biggest opening of the year so far.
It’s the only Hindi film this year that has surpassed trade expectations and managed to fall under the ‘excellent’ opening category. The other two were Hollywood films.

So ppl are over reacting when the opening of one new-comer film inches close to Akshay’s offbeat film and is much behind many other Akshay films, whereas no one cares that it has beaten the opening of almost all ‘commercial’ films of other actors- Ajay(baring SR),Shahid(except Shandaar), Saif(except Race 2), John(except H2 and Race 2 which werent his films anyway), etc.
