Baaghi has recorded the 3rd highest opening of 2016, only behind films like Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN and Akshay Kumar’s Airlift. FAN released on a partial holiday, so on real-value, the opening of Baaghi is only about 20-25% lower than the biggest opening of the year so far.
It’s the only Hindi film this year that has surpassed trade expectations and managed to fall under the ‘excellent’ opening category. The other two were Hollywood films.

@indicine how many screens did Baaghi release in ? I guess the number of screens are similar to Airlift. If yes, then how come Airlift falls under ‘Good’ category, & Baaghi under ‘Excellent’ category ?

Excellent collection of baaghi Saw it yesterday .Except excellent action ,locations and 1-2 songs the movie had nothing new to offer.I felt like watching the mixture of cc2c commando.
I am a little bit skeptical about baaghi’s long run in b.o.I am afraid to say that It might crash like fan,blue,brothers,etc

@Sunny, not at all. It’s FAN, Baaghi followed by Airlift. The footfalls of Baaghi was way higher than Airlift and closer to FAN. Most of Airlift’s business came from multiplexes, where the ticket prices are much higher.
So it just missed Airlifts collection by a meagre margin. Great collections.
Not yet a fan of youngsters like Arjun, Sid and Tiger. May be it will take some time to get warmed up to them. But they are surely making a strong impact especially this movie.

1.#Baaghi is a massy film(Action Entertainer) and On the Other Hand,#Airlift belonged to a Offbeat genre(thriller category) that has a few audiences.
2.#Baaghi has released on approx.2800 screens And #Airlift around 2200 screens.
3.#Baaghi had no competition on its release,and#Airlift was in competition with a successful franchise #KKHH3(which had a greater buzz than #Airlift even before its release among audiences)
And still Akki’s Offbeat movie scored more than Tiger’s Massy movie’s Opening day bo collections.
But still…………you kids don’t actually understand trade?????
