As a 2009 New year special, we start this new section on our site called “Ask Us”. Its pretty darn straight forward.

Have any query / question about stars, movies, box-office or anything related to Bollywood? Ask Us! Just submit your question(s) below, in the usual comments section. We will try and answer as many questions as we possibly can.

Note – Questions should only be in English and try to be as clear with your question as possible, it will help us understand better.

  • London Dreams collected a decent 15 crore nett approx over its first weekend. The approx breakdowns were 4.25 crore on Friday, 3.75 crore on Saturday and a very good 7 crore on Sunday. On Monday due to holiday film may add another 8 crore to set a huge first weekend record. First week collections of previous hits like (SIK Rs. 1,42,71,404 / Ghajini Rs. 1,33,69,665/ Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Rs. 75,00,000) are far behind. So we can say LONDON DREAMS a hit?.
    Ajay Devgan’s last 3 biggies in a row Goalmaal Return (70.2 crore), All the Best (39.5 crore/2 weeks) & now London Dreams put him in a list of Top grossers like Shahrukh,Aamir ?.
    Is there any future film of Ajay Devgan with Shahrukh Khan?.
    What are the expectations of RAJNITI?.

    1. London Dreams is not a HIT, just yet. Business on Monday was less than 4 crores. What’s your source?
    2. Look, it ain’t easy to get into the same league as SRK, Aamir, Hrithik, Akshay or Salman. Ajay Devgan needs 3 solo hits. All the Best, London Dreams and Golmaal Returns were all multi starrers.

    Both movies weren’t universal hits. Mann did average business and DCH did well in cities only.

    Dont think 3 Idiots will come close to the total gross nor the opening week record of Ghajini. For a movie to achieve the super-success of Ghajini it has to perform exceptionally well at both multiplexes and single screens. Even beating Wanted’s record at single screens this year would be tough for 3 Idiots

    ‘Gross’ is the total collections of a film at the box-office before deducting taxes. While ‘nett figures’ are after taxes, i.e the ‘actual’ money a movie makes.

    1.Diffrence between gross,net gross etc have been posted by Indicine way back.
    2. The look of Amitabh Bachchan in Paa and Brad Pit in The curious cae of benjamin button are purely by make-up. VFX is nothing to do with it.

    Thanks Yashpal. But Visual effects were used in Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Paa too, but not sure of Bachchan’s look. From the pictures, looks like visual effects. We’ll try nad get more info on this.

    and in CCBB many advanced and invisible vfx shots were used along with very good make up. u can watch the making of the film. the film won the oscar for vfx. but dont know anything about paa.
