As a 2009 New year special, we start this new section on our site called “Ask Us”. Its pretty darn straight forward.

Have any query / question about stars, movies, box-office or anything related to Bollywood? Ask Us! Just submit your question(s) below, in the usual comments section. We will try and answer as many questions as we possibly can.

Note – Questions should only be in English and try to be as clear with your question as possible, it will help us understand better.

    1. Very unlikely, especially with the 3 new releases this week. But going with the Distributor’s share, Wanted has already beaten Love Aaj Kal.

    2. Very soon, Aamir should release it on his blog.

    1. As of now, Priyanka is miles ahead. Katrina or Deepika.. Hmm.. to each his own. Personally, Katrina.

    2. Maybe to a certain extent. Kaminey was affected big time though.

    Lots of confusion around the budget. Some say 100 crores, some 75.. We think it should be around 50 – 55 crores at max. For a HIT it needs a minimum of 55 – 60 crores..

    Regarding your last two questions, we loads of rumors. Nothing official.

    Needs to do another 5 – 6 crores of business. As of now its around 55 – 56 crores.

    Visual Effects are a huge part of most movies these days.

  • Is there a rule that states an actor or actress has to have at least one hour screen presence if they would like to be nominated for the awards? I ask in regards to Priyanka’s role in Kaminey. Does she have a chance for Best Actress?

    No rule as such. Priyanka does have a decent chance of getting nominated.

    The two films are not clashing. Kurbaan is releasing a week earlier

    Atleast 60 crores plus we think. The budget isnt very clear as yet.

    We think Blue will be declared a HIT once it crosses 60 crores (nett).

  • Indicine Team: do u know what’s the main reason for the failure of Mangal Pandey movie? Was it because Aamir Khan wasn’t considered as a big super star a few years ago, or because of the script, story, or because of the audience didn’t find the movie interesting?

    I loved the movie and found it good, so did my sister & my brother ( better than Rang de Basanti) and it didn’t lack anything in terms of direction & script, and Aamir’s performance was so good, Rani too.. and I don’t know the reason yet for the failure!!!!

    Aamir was a big star back then too. Reason could be Historic movie rarely work in Bollywood. Jodha Akbar was an exception, most other films with the biggest of stars have flopped.

    Wanted is a super-hit. Veer next year, official release date not announced. Should be in February

    Is it really the site of 3 Idiots? Is the official website of 3 Idiots? Or is it a gaming website like findghajini.com which was made for Ghajini?

    There is a lot of confusion, since there has been no press reports about a deal with Zapak.com and 3 Idiots producers and no official announcement of the promotions as such. Also, one poster of 3 Idiots contained a mention of this site, whereas the poster published on Bollywood Hungama did not contain any mention about such a site.

    Kindly clarify whether this site is related to 3 Idiots or not. Thank you.

  • Indicine Team: So Mangal Pandey flopped because of the reason u mentioned!! So did Ashoka!! what a brilliant nice movie was Asoka.. I saw it 4 times.. the direction/production/cinematography/story/dialogues/songs/performance/costumes.. a perfect movie for some blind audience.. yeah.. pls don’t feel bad because this is true.. the audience is dumb, stupid.. these 2 movies deserved to be super hit movies and they didn’t do well.. but some kachra cheap trashy silly movies satisfy the majority.. God.. if I’m as an audience get angary this way.. then how about the producers and the filmmakers of these good movies which flops!! they’ve the right to go mad!

    What about the critics.. did they praise both Asoka & Mangal Pandey.. or they too didn’t like these 2 movies!! pls don’t tell me that they too didn’t value them!

    Fathiya, Asoka was targeted at the niche audience, it would never have worked with the masses. Maybe if it had released today, during the multiplex era in India, it would have fared better. Ditto for Mangal Pandey, which opened very well but eventually crashed.

    Both movies received mixed response from the critics.

  • Fathiya: U r 100% right.. I think Asoka is the No.1 movie among the historical movies and also it deserves top position in bollywood movies… i cried during the last 15min in the movie especially wen SRK meets kareena again during war…amazing movie…

  • indicine: how can blue be a Akshay film.. its a sanjay dutt film na… he is the leader and the hero.. except in songs sanjay is terrific…

    Has been answered many times before. Anyway, like Dhoom 2 was Hrithik’s movie and Rang De Basanti was Aamir’s. No fool would invest 80 crores on a Sanjay Dutt movie.
