Anushka Sharma’s character in “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” (JTHJ) has finally been revealed – she plays Akira, a documentary filmmaker, and sets out to chronicle the life of Shahrukh Khan in the film.
Akira is an employee of Discovery Channel, and she wants to make a documentary on army officer Samar (played by SRK). The audience will discover the entire story of JTHJ through Akira’s eyes.
“We are honoured to have associated with one of India’s foremost film stalwarts – the late Yash Chopra,” Rahul Johri, senior vice president and general manager – South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said in a statement.
A Yash Raj Films (YRF) official is also hopeful this integration will work in favour of both – the movie as well as the channel.
“We wanted to associate with the leading non-fiction channel and we are happy to partner with the world renowned Discovery Channel. We are certain that viewers will enjoy Anushka’s refreshing character as a Discovery Channel employee,” said Ashish Patil, vice president, YRF.
Jab Tak Hai Jaan also stars Katrina Kaif and is slated for theatrical release on November 13th.

Sorry yar dewali ki shaan…only shah Rukh Khan
@ veena, mam i want you to dance on the beats of music of SOS, without that Diwali will be worthless.
JTHJ : Worldwide :
250-300 cr. !
have a feeling Anushka will steal the show. comparisons between anushka & katrina will be there and that’ll be like comparing arjun rampal with ranbir kapoor. there’s a huge possibility that Katrina will destroy the film with her pathetic acting. but i m sure Anushka will rock.
btw though i hated the JTHJ songs at first. now i m liking a few songs (heer & jiya re, rest r still bad). the album is good but not upto rahman sir’s level.
@shahid
Diwali Rocks With Son of Sardar nd one n only PATHAN
@akash…jthj’s success totally depends on srk nd anushka..thy look gr8…im still very doubtfull abt katrina..cos she look expressionless…bt anushka gonna rock 4 sure….bt diwali bekar bina son of sardar
..
@shahid..i kno buddy…this diwali bekar without son of sardar…
if i’ll ever watch JTHJ, it’ll be just for my Anushka.
but i just can’t watch that silly Katrina. she’s the worst actress bollywood has ever had..
@lil wayne hello wayne bro. completely agree with u :D
@akash…she’s in the bollywood bcs of salman…one of the worst actress…
becoz srk movie is releasing on diwali…..
rajnikant postponed kochdaiyaan.
akshay postponed khiladi 786.
kamal hassan postponed vishwaroopam.
aamir postponed talaash.
ajay son of sardaar looking ridiculous….
now tell who is the king ;-).
@wadud
Salman Khan
Salman is Good Hero but not Gr8 Actor
Give salman Darr/Chak De India/My Name Is Khan/Mohanbatain/Dil Se/Paheli etc
Then see the result
Jthj 2500-2700screen
sos 1500-1700 screen
so, 70% theatre owner choose jthj over sos.
According to ormax media buzz, appeal of sos are far behind jthj.
So, first beginning is well later content will decide the future of film
