Amitabh Bachchan and Salman to perform at IPL 2012

The country will witness a grand opening of the Indian Premiere League season 5 with Bollywood superstars performing at the event held at YMCA College of Physical Education in Chennai on April 3rd (a day before the first match).

Amitabh Bachchan who underwent an abdominal surgery recently, will be back in action as the host of the event. He expressed his excitement on Twitter ”Asia Cup over soon and then IPL. Opening extravaganza in Chennai  and yours truly a small part of it. Nervous as hell. April 3 is the day for the opening, preparing for it already. Getting back into the grind”.

Last year, Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor were a part of the opening ceremony. This time Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra are the chosen ones. They will set the stage on fire dancing to some popular tracks.

Priyanka who is a huge fan of cricket tweeted “what act do u guys suggest I do for the IPL opening ceremony. Should be so fun!!”.

The IPL authorities also promise an evening of glitz and glamour as international stars take to the stage on the eve of the first match.
