Akshay Kumar has announced his next film with his ‘Baby’ and ‘Special 26’ director Neeraj Pandey. The film, titled ‘Rustom’, will release in theatres during the Independence Day weekend next year.
Interestingly, the same weekend has been booked by Ashutosh Gowariker’s ambitious period film ‘Mohenjo Daro’ starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead.
Not only does it set up a massive clash between superstars like Akshay and Hrithik, but it’ll also be a clash between two of the most acclaimed directors in the industry, Neeraj Pandey and Ashutosh Gowariker.
Hours before his 48th birthday, Akshay made the announcement on Twitter.

I admit that there is an difference in their box office collection ….. but ratings of khiladi kumar movie is far away better hritik movie. for eg baby gets 4.5 out of 5 but bang bang gets only 2.5 out of 5

Akki Vs Hrithik and Neeraj Vs Aushotosh
Well, at recent times people are more attracted to Neeraj Pandey’s movies and Aushotosh has been out of the market for almost 5-6 years. So i don’t think MD will provide any sort of competition to Rustom. And if the WOM of MD is not good then its curtains for Aushotosh because i can give you assurance that Rustom will have a minimum IMDB rating of more than 8.0.
And moreover as a true Akshay kumar fan, i want this one sooner..
With or without clash, Rustom will be a “HIT” for sure. “12th August 2016” come soon..

Hrithik and salman were flop actors till 2005 and 2010 repectivly.because they is to do 3 films in year,now hardley release only 1 film in 2 years. Despite of 4 release Akshay sustained well in Bollywood.some of year he ruled also (2006,07,08,12).None of the actor are ready to make multiple films in year because stardom will come down.
Akshay does five films a year. Even after that few crosses 100 crores and average is 80-90 crores. Had small star like Hritik done that, his films would have struggled to cross meagre 20 crores. Its easy to collect 100 and 200 crores when u appear once in a blue moon. Had Akshay done that, his films would have crossed 500 crores. After all Hritik’s total property value is equal to Akshay’s yearly tax payment.

I think it’s interesting to watch him against each other Akshay’s last film was Blockbuster and Hrithik film bang bang was also a semi hit so here I think we can watch here a mega clash. But now a days I think Akshay Kumar is bigger satar then Hrithik, so here I think Akshay’s Rustom will do more good then Hrithik Mohenjo dark.
I see many Hrithik fans crossing the line now. Don’t forget one thing Akshay does 4 films in a year which earn around 80 Cr while Hrithik does one film in a year or two which earns around 150 Cr. No big difference. Ask your Hrithik do films like Akshay, he’ll struggle to make 40 Cr.
Let Hrithik Roshan fans bark as much as they want. Just like how srk fans barked post Dilwale release.
During CE and OUATIMD clash, OUATIMD earned 61 Cr despite poor publicity and utv’s cheap trick to steal the screens.
Rustom will have a cleaner release time and publicity will be good. So even if rustom has bad content or MD has good WOM ruston is sure shot to get 75 Cr. And if rustom has very good WOM then 90 or 100 Cr is a possibility. MD will earn between 140-160 Cr.
Talking about the budget
Rustom – 50 Cr
MD – 150 Cr
Haha in that sense, rustom will be hit or super hit while MD will be flop or average :p
