Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who is on a roll these days with his choice of films, will begin shooting for one of his upcoming films ‘Gold’ – which releases in theatres during the Independence Day weekend next year.
The film is based on the life of Olympian Balbir Singh, the first person to win gold medal for independent India in 1948.
There are reports that Akshay and his wife Twinkle are currently in Bradford (England).
Reema Kagti, who directed Aamir Khan in ‘Talaash’, will be directing ‘Gold’. Television actress Mouni Roy will play the female lead.
‘Gold’ is announced for theatres release on August 15 next year. It’ll be Akshay’s fourth consecutive ‘Independence Day’ release after Brothers (2015), Rustom (2016) and Toilet Ek Prem Katha (2017).

2017 turned out worst year for Bollywood as it’s ruller Salman got out just around 120 in 1st inning on Eid.
But no sign of worry atleast for him as he will roar again on Xmas & min 300crs are on Card.
But it’s worried thing for Bollywood.
South Indian Baahubali scored huge 500crs+ in Hindi belt & we don’t have much films left which will score huge in remaining half.

Salman ki 11 centuries. 64 weekend without any festival for a rejected film with bad wom & highly negative reviews flowing in a film without a proper Lovestory is a sign of a megastar. Wish akki good time. As akki is my second fav.
