One of the most entertaining (and exciting) actor-director combos is back again. The team of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, that have given us huge hits like Hera Pheri and Bhool Bhulaiya, will soon be working on another film together. Another great news is that Rohit Shetty will also be collaborating with them as a producer.
A source close to the project said “Priyadarshan is giving finishing touches to the script of his next Bollywood project and has already signed Akshay for it. This director-actor combination has tasted great commercial success and this is poised to be their eighth film together. It will be a big-budget affair with Rohit Shetty backing it.”
When Priyadarshan was contacted recently, he also said that, “The script has been finalised and rest of the casting is being discussed. It will be a musical comedy; my comeback after a two-year break from the Hindi film industry.”
When it comes to comedy films, after the David Dhawan – Govinda combo, it simply cannot get better than Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar. With the added advantage of Rohit Shetty’s backing, the untitled film is set to be the most keenly awaited film whenever it releases!

Really excited for this one!! Akki-Priyadarshan has given us solid comedy films which are still popular on TV.
Akki-Priyadarshan’s Garam Masala thrashed Lallu-Priyadarshan’s KyunKi in 2005,both the films released on the same day.
It will be a remake of tamil film Soodhu Kavvum which is rated 8.4 on IMDB but let me tell you it’s a black comedy which is still not a profitable genre at the box office.Films like Ghanchakkar did’nt worked at the boxoffice.So don’t expect records.It will be Akki-Priyadarshan’s least commercially appealing movie.It was remade in telugu and was a disaster there.

His comic sense is at level of Farah & Sajid.
Only flying cars & saying Rohit Shetty Style will not enough to join the league of great directors.
Honey Singh given some chartebuster songs but that not mean that you can say that he is in league of Rehman.
For every Farah & Sajid there is one HNY & Himmatwala kind a stop.
And i know Rohit said he has dream to work with Salman bhai & Big B.

Priyadarshan is a marvellous director in comedy, whatever the box office fate he mostly succeed to make audience laugh.
with Akki he has given Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiya, Garam Masala,Bhagam Bhag, De Dana Dan and Khatta Meetha. Except DE Dana Dan I loved all his films with Akshay.
He is even did better comedy films other Akki like Hulchul,Hungama,Dhol and Chip Chip ke. All were brilliant comedy films. Chip Chip k had dull second half otherwise in first half it was brilliant. I hope Akki- Priyadardhan will give brilliant film together with Rohit shetty.B O doesn’t matter for me then.

1. No buzz among general audiences except for fans
2. No major controversy before or during film release.(generally controversy helps to pull audiences to theatres)
3. Frequent release of his films.Some people even not aware of his movies. Family audiences are must for 200+ movies.
4. Most of AK’s fan are from twitters and facebook.So,
