Filmmaker Siddharth Anand who has just wrapped up the final shooting schedule of Bang Bang starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif, has roped in Akshay Kumar for his next film.
Anand who has previously directed Saif Ali Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, felt Akshay is more suited for the role than Hrithik.
The film will be a heavy-duty action thriller and Akshay will also co-produce it. This is the first time Anand and Akshay are collaborating for a film.
According to a source, Siddharth met Akshay few days ago for a narration and the actor immediately gave his node for the film.
Confirming the news, a source close to the development reveale, “It’s a heavy-duty action thriller set across the globe. The idea was with him, even before Bang Bang went on floors. He has a great working relationship with Hrithik but felt this role is more suitable for Akshay.”
The lead actress for the film has not been finalised yet. The film will go on floors early next year.

It has’nt been confirmed, as of now, it’s just a rumour. And if he feels that Akshay suits the role more that doesn’t mean he is Akshay’s fan, had that been the thing he would have cast him in BANG BANG also.

Take it easy guys. Siddharth only said the he felt Akshay was more “suitable” to the role than Hrithik, he didn’t say that Akshay is better than Hrithik in general or vice versa. I also think Akshay was more suitable than him in Hera Pheri, Welcome, Boss etc, so he has a point.

Akshay should slow down, he has around 7/8 movies in pipeline. He had 3 release last year, none open with good BO collection. This year’s only release also did not open good. In this way he is loosing his core fan base. Few years back he were neck to neck with srk, but now nexgen actors are opening better than him. so, akshay must look on quality not quantity. No thokam pita movies.
