Airlift is one of those rare films that earned both critical acclaim and commercial success. The target audience was limited in number, yet the film went on to become a 125 crore plus grosser at the box office.
More importantly, the ‘classes’ returned to multiplexes to watch an Akshay Kumar film after a long time. Films like Baby and Special 26 did fairly well at the box office, but both weren’t profitable ventures like Airlift.

@indicine how come footfall just 1.06 cr. it must be somewhere between 1.2 to 1.3 cr. you have to calculate footfall based on gross collection.
The footfall of gabbar is back is 1. 05 crore like airlift, but gabbar collect only 85 crore anf airlift do 127 Crore, that indicate how much involve multiplex for a filim.

Holiday had 1.39crs footfalls collecting 114crs,it was loved at the mass centres but still the difference is too much.

The Greedy Gobar has crossed all the possible boundaries of bandargiri with his mediocre crappy floppy films. He is not even a star. Doing 110 or more craps and crossing only 2700 Cr is indeed a shame. Because a real supertastar’s career analysis after so many films should be more than at least 6000 Cr.

Airlift was critical film not commercial.Airlift busines could have more than 160 cr.
1.it’s critical film not mass or commercial.
2.unknown supporting actors including Heroine of the film.
3.airlift was clashed kkhm 3 ,mastijade,ghayal returns,salakhadoos.
4.Jan month is not favourable for Bollywood films.
4.lack of promotion and low budget film
5.Non festival release.
But too film managed 130 cr.hats off Akshay sir.
