Airlift dropped on Day 6 at the box office, which is its first major drop after performing exceedingly well over the extended 5-day weekend at the box office. The film has collected Rs 6 crore on Day 6, which is a drop of 51% from its first Friday.
The 6-day total of the film is Rs 78.5 crore and Airlift is now looking at first week business of around 84-85 crore.
There are two releases this weekend – Sunny Leone’s Mastizaade and R. Madhavan’s multi-lingual Saala Khadoos. The former is expected to take a fairly good opening, while the latter will depend on word-of-mouth even though the film has got a boost with Rajkumar Hirani backing it.
But with an established film like Airlift, it remains to be seen if the audience will give Saala Khadoos a chance even if it carries positive reports.

Madhavan film looks to be content oriented since Mr Hirani is involved,the real competion for Airlift won’t be Mastizaade but Saala Khados.
Onr day collection is less and dogs come again to bark. Wait it will grow tremendously in this weekend. It is going like bajirao mastani way. Sure it will surpass 170 crores. Scree count remain same for next week also. Because mastizaade is not that type of film.

Managed to watch AirLift and I must say, its a masterpiece.
Now-a-days, I am having a quite busy schedule at work, so won’t go into much detail and review. But AirLift is one of the best performances of Akshay’s career and I urge every Indian to go and watch it in theatre at least once.
We need to support such films so that actors and film-makers dare to take similar risks in future.
Last but not the least, kudos to Akki, Many had completely ruled him out but he continued to chose scripts as per his choice and result is in front of everyone.
I wish, he carries the same momentum instead of wasting his time with Joker, Entertainment, Boss kind of movies.

6 CRORE is a major drop!! I was hoping for this film to touch 140 min but looking at this drop it will settle at 110 or less!! Forget Mastizaade that would be a washout!! Salaa Khadoos is the one to look out for!! I can genuinely see another Chak de India!!

Quite a big drop, but understandably since it exceeded expectations during extended weekend.
150 looks tough, but it could still become Akshay’s highest grosser.
Mastizaade has no buzz beside Sunny Leone factor, Saala Khadoos has limited appeal, so it is unlikely that Airlift will be affected by them.

@star wars, BB had best word of mouth, kabir khan as director who is one of the mist south after director, brilliant child harshali malhotra. So better stay within your limits. Yes we compare akshay’s movie with sallu’s jai ho because the comparison does go hands in hands as both jai ho and airlift are January release.
