Akshay Kumar’s Airlift is on course to become the first HIT of 2016, as the film could recover costs by the end of its first week at the box office. The Raja Menon directed film has collected Rs 44.3 crore in its first weekend, showing excellent trends both on Saturday and Sunday.
Not only is Airlift performing well at multiplexes in big cities, but even mass centres like Rajasthan, C.I, C.P and Bihar have shown reasonably good growth over the weekend. Even down south the film has grown phenomenally during the weekend.
Monday is a working day, but business should begin to pick-up evening onwards at multiplexes as tomorrow is a holiday for Republic Day.
The makers of the film couldn’t have chosen a better date to release, as Airlift would be a perfect Republic Day outing for the family. If the hold on Monday is strong, Tuesday could be as big as Sunday at the box office.

average weekend prdp had 41cr on fist day lol anyway u can,t compare anyone with salman but akshay will get his first hit after 4 averages/flops last year hope emraan hashmi will also give hit after so many flops as i think akshay and emraan in same cotegory.

No cares and no worries if movie will not reached to 100 cr. Akshay has given his excellent performance as no one can give like this and movie is superb. And I feel prouder to be an Indian after watching such kind of movies then 100 cr is a very limited space for me. Akshay and movie air lift have won my heart.

Take a bow Akshay kjmar i mean it is just incredible bring up audiences continuosly tk the theatres throughout the year..i mean u definitely need to have a special mention and you are definitely a true superstar..i mean look at him man..baby was a bit underperformer but still had a decent lyftym run..then gib got good initial as well agai brothers opened during weekend and then u return with a masala flick to show what u can do with sib and now with airlift u have re established urself as one of the most loved star of the country with a crazy fan following..hats off to you sir..you deserve all the appreciation..

Hope it beats RR, Airlift is more deserving to be Akshay’s highest grosser, the fact that the films screening is just 2000screens, plus lack of commercial elements make these film collection good. Ithing if kkhh3 has not clashed with airlift the weekend bs will have been around 60cr. After Bm beat dilwale and now Airlift bs ithink indian audience are becoming content drevin which is great.
