The first teaser trailer of a film releasing in 2016 is out and it’s also time for us to make our first prediction for the new year.
The 2 minute long trailer is outstanding; high on production values, realistic performances, excellent background score and when a man waves the Indian flag on top of the Queen Alia International Airport, it also evokes a sense of patriotism. The teaser itself makes you want to watch the film, first day first show.
And then we have Akshay Kumar, one of the best and most versatile actors in the industry today, who seems to have delivered yet another terrific performance. His body language, dialogue delivery, the intensity and pain in his eyes.. makes you wonder if there is anything that Akshay cannot do? Unlike many other actors, there is very little homework that Akshay does. It’s all spontaneous. Remember, he shot Singh Is Bling and Airlift together.
4.5 stars for the teaser.
#IndicineFBO Box Office Prediction: Like Baby, which released during the same weekend last year, Airlift will have limited appeal for audience at mass centres. The film is targeted at the multiplex audience, and it’s here where Akshay films have under-performed in recent times. Also, it’ll be interesting to see what sort of marketing strategy the makers have planned for Airlift. The trailer of Baby was launched on December 3rd last year, it was received well, but without song promos in the weeks that followed, the film couldn’t sustain the buzz. The teaser of Airlift has released more than 2 months before the film.
We start IndicineFBO with a prediction of 10.6 crore for Airlift. The final prediction, like always, will be made on 21st January 2016 (a day before the film’s release). It’s releasing on a working Friday and has a big holiday for Republic Day on Tuesday. If the film is well-received, it could give Akshay his much-needed 100 crore grosser.

Outstanding trailer and very well written review. We guys should watch this movie which is based on real incident of India’s biggest escape plan in 1990. Looking intriguing.
Must say since Special 26, Akki has evolving himself as one of the most versatile actor. He is right now using his potential with 150%, even more than his capablities we think. In last 3 years Akshay is the only actor who is doing his work with full potential. SPL 26, Baby, Holiday, OMG,GIB and now Airlift.
Salman doing masala films till last years but He also did fantastic work in BB and PRDP.
Aamir given great performance in talaash,dhoom 3 & PK, but it was only pk who matched the actual potential of Aamir khan, Talaash & d3 lagged behind in that category.
Ajay also wasted himself but bounced back with Drishyam, now hoping great work in Shivaay & Baadshaho.
Hrithik – Agneepath is great, k3 is good and bang bang crap, Only it was Agneepath he matched his potential.High hopes from Mohenjodaro

The teaser is very nice but come on from spc26 to gib how many different genres he potrayed? Only comedy,1 action sports movie and the rest terrorism and underworld. Too early for predictions, why so obsessed with akki when ironically you already have ranbir tamasha a higher opening than airlift. Seems you guys are just confused. Another 85-97 crs movie. Versatility with above average and only 1 clean hit just this year? It’s hard to differentiate who is a Bette enyertIners akki or Salman. Leave versatility for the 2 khans and ajay. you are expecting 25 cr opening for dilwale? shame on you. that movie will release only around 2500-2800 screens and clash will certainly affect as it will release with one of the most awaited films since last 15 years of SLB and his most ambitious film in his career, and also on non holiday, so how on earth are you expecting dilwale to open 25 cr? according to me it will find it very difficult to open more than even 20 cr.
