Ek Tha Tiger has raced ahead, setting new records in every town/city/state of India, on it’s opening day at the box office. The numbers are mind-boggling and way ahead of Agneepath (Day 1) and Ra One (Day 2).
Below is a quick territory wise comparison between the opening day collections of Ek Tha Tiger and Agneepath. We have also included the second day figures of Ra One, as it was a holiday.
Please note that Agneepath released on lesser screens and had fewer shows due to it’s length. The Ra One figures are for the Hindi version only. It collected about 1 crore from Tamil/Telugu versions. As for Ek Tha Tiger, it could have collected a few more lakhs, if not for the strike in Assam and the funeral of politician Vilasrao Deshmukh in Nizam.

It’s so funny that people who were giving all the credit for the Agneepath opening to Katrina Kaif, aren’t even talking about her presence here. It’s only Salman Khan. Katrina is hands down the biggest female superstar in the country and deserves credit for the opening.
Salman is taking Bollywood to unseen heights, his stardom is unbelievable right now.
I think the next films to break this record will be Dabangg 2, Krrish 3 and Chennai Express. I don’t see Talaash, SRK’s next (because it’s a romantic film and clashes with SOS) will come close to the opening of this film.

chennai Express naam se hi flop lagta hai,,u know wat movie name also contributes to a box office collection…..aur dhoom 23khagaye kya??dhoom 3 will defeat ek tha tiger’s record,if it breaks 3 idiots record,,,talaash may not do a business of over 200 crores bt 100 crores toh easily karega,because movies like houseful2,rowdy rathore ne toh kardikhaya..aur aamir khan has a huge fan following too…..in 2012.only dabangg 2 and talaash have a better chance to sabotage previous records:)

Yes ra.one three day collection was 59.60 cr in all version despite negative wom and ek tha tiger ka bhi same collection despite this wide release and increasing prices.
@kat yes u r right ra1 three day collection was near 60cr in all version and ra.one 1st day was diwali puja so the evening shows didnt do well and second day was working day and third also.

Salman gave ett such big opening. Agneepath got opening because of katrina’s chikni chameli. Hrithik dont have that starpower.
Salman films need holiday. Don2 is release on working day collected 15.60 better than dabangg on eid , ready in summer holiday, etc. Despite film was for multiplex audiences. Single screens dont understand english like takla fan.
