At a promotional event of his upcoming film ‘I’, Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman has said that he is busy scripting a film that he also plans to co-produce.
Rahman also rubbished reports of him directing a film in the near future, saying he isn’t even thinking of directing a film at this point in time.
“I am not thinking about direction. I am scripting a film and also co-producing it. It’s in the process” he said.
On asked about his decision to compose the music for Shankar’s upcoming movie ‘I’, which releases in the second week of January, Rahman said “Shankar told me about this story 15 years back and since then he nurtured and worked on this story. I knew about this film so I did this film”
The Oscar-winning composer is also in the running for Academy Awards this year too. ‘Million Dollar Arm’, ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’ and ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ have all been shortlisted by a list released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

People are criticizing him a lot for working in Hollywood and not giving his best in India but the truth is audience love to hear cheap songs with mindless lyrics which isn’t Rahman Sir’s forte and it is one of the reasons why his songs aren’t being much appreciated in recent years
HIGHWAY album is so Addictive. I am getting bored of listening to Ek villian and Yaariyan songs now. Bt i still enjoy Highway tracks like Maahi Ve and Patakha Gudi. Who will get best music director award?my take on best 10(only a random list no order):

Hope Arjun kapoor gets a chance to play lead in ar rehman’s film. Ar rehman will become the first director to give atbb on debut.

Dear Nipun Bang Bang Doesn’t even have a single good song in its album. So stop being a bum and remove it from your list. Kick had better songs than Bang Bang.
I don’t know why but Rahman always gives better music in Tamil movies than Hindi ones….this year Kochadaiyyan, I, Lingaa, Laaviya Thailavan all had superb music…much better than Highway
