Akshay Kumar’s Rustom has taken the total count of 100 crore films to 45. With films like ‘MS Dhoni’, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, ‘Shivaay’, ‘Befikre’, ‘Dear Zindagi’ and ‘Dangal’ scheduled to release this year, it’ll be interesting to see if the 50 mark (total count) is crossed this year.
Out of those 45 films which have collected Rs 6974 crore, 10 belong to Salman Khan. The combined collections of his 10 films is a staggering Rs 1939 crore. In other words, that’s nearly 28% of the collections of all 100 crore films.
Aamir and Salman together have contributed Rs 2882 crore in 14 films, while the three Khans (including Shah Rukh Khan) together account for Rs 3819 crore of business.
With 100 crore films becoming more common and younger stars making their presence felt in the industry, the challenge for the more established stars will be to consistently cross the 150 crore mark.

Honestly, kind of money producers spending to make movies 100 cr should be a cakewalk but that is not the case.
It clearly shows we as an industry struggling to find right content. If hindi film has to sustain they need spend more on writers and stories as hollywood and regional cinemas slowly catching up.
Situation is alarming for sure but can be controlled.
@indicine correct your list. Sultan has earned only 300 cr. It hasn’t gone beyond that figure. Stop manipulating and put the right collections. It’s 300.45 cr. Thanks.

100 cr is not a big deal these days. ……100 cr is a target for youngsters and akki……………khans and hrithik target is 200 cr….that’s why when there films didn’t perform they called flops. …While akki is giving parties inviting will Smith. ..After crossing 100 cr….lol……what a shame. ….

Last ten salman films collected almost two thousands crore. So avg of ten films is 195crore. Extraordinary.
It would have already been 50 if these films had also crossed the 100 cr mark:
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi- Had the 26/11 attacks not taken place at that time, or this film had a better release time. It would have surely crossed the milestone
Kambakkht Ishq, Blue, Tees Maar Khan- The historic opening of these films were an evidence to the kind of hype they had. Akshay was at the best phase of his career at that time, KI had cameos from Hollywood superstars, Blue was the most expensive film at that time and had Kylie Minogue, while TMK had one of the biggest hit song of Bollywood. Only if Akshay had paid attention towards the script.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara- Only if wasn’t facing competition from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2, it would have surely crossed 100 mark, it failed to cross that mark by just 9 cr!
Srk highest is 226. Salman avg of last five films is more than 226crore.
