The 100 crore club now has 27 films, with Jai Ho being the latest to make its entry albeit a little slower than most in the trade expected.
Some facts about Bollywood 100 crore club
- Salman Khan now has 6 films in the 100 crore club, no other actor even comes close. Shahrukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and Asin come second with 4 films.
- Amongst directors, Rohit Shetty is the most successful with 4 films. His last release, Chennai Express managed to collect more than 200 crores.
- Out of the twenty seven 100 crore films, only 4 films have crossed the 200 cr mark – 3 Idiots (2009), Chennai Express (2013), Krrish 3 (2013) and Dhoom 3 (2013).
- 2012 had the most number of 100 crore grossers – nine. Last year, 8 films managed to cross the milestone.
- Ranveer Singh (28) and Anushka Sharma (25) are the youngest lead actors in the 100 crore club.
- Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Ram Leela were the first films without a ‘bankable male superstar’ to net 100 crores.
- When added up, the total business generated by 100 crore grossers is 3789 cr.

Out of all the above, i guess Ra.One is the only flop movie in the 100 cr, as it was made on a budget of 175cr (as touted by its producers, and changed tracks later) but recovered only 125cr.
Wiki later quoted the budget as 1.25 billion ie., 125 cr, and even if that is taken it only recovered the cost, so still a flop.

Khans are rejected by movie lever & makers very soon as their movie quality poor and they need big holiday to recover film cost.
It is pretty unusual thing a big release lower down its ticket price so that large number of people can watch and enjoy it. The Golden Hearted Man Salman Khan did this. Jai Ho is a film for common man, their problem and their life. Jai Ho has a social message to help 3 more people if someone helped you instead of just saying thanks. The creation of human chain an effort to bring the change in the society. To make it reachable to everyone Salman decided to keep the price for Jai Ho tickets low. He gave the message to distributor and theaters owner to keep it lower. Where the big films like dhoom3 and chennai express had ticket price as much as 900 RS and 400+ RS respectively. For Jai Ho it was not even close 350 at highest price. Tickets are available for even 100 Rs for Jai Ho at lowest. This is what people’s man Salman Khan wanted, Make it open for everyone and take home the social message with you and help people. So with such low tickets price if Jai Ho got an opening of 17.55 crores nett then no way it is bad business at all. Everywhere tickets price is more than 30% less some places its even 50% less if we compare with dhoom3. Now do your math, Hope you get it…
