Brothers Day 4 (Monday) Box Office Collections

Brothers has fared poorly at the box office on Monday, giving the film little or no chance of crossing the 100 crore mark – which was the least a film of this size should have collected. The Akshay Kumar – Sidharth Malhotra starrer had to collect somewhere around 7-8 crore to give the film any chance at the box office, but early estimates suggest that the first Monday business will be around the 5.5 – 6 crore mark.

When the film released in January 2012, it recorded the highest opening day collections ever - the record was eventually broken by Ek Tha Tiger in the same year. 3 years after the release of ‘Agneepath’, Malhotra released his second film ‘Brothers’, which has also taken a good opening at the box office.

IndicineLBO: Lifetime Prediction of Brothers

Brothers has opened well at the box office, but the multiplex business has been below-the-mark in the first two days and that trend has continued on the third day too. The word-of-mouth is mixed and given its genre, the family audience might not come out in big numbers to watch the film Monday onwards. As part of #IndicineLBO predictions, we expect Brothers to end with lifetime box office collections of Rs 100 – 105 crore. Our final prediction for the film is Rs 103 crore.

Bangistan and Mission Impossible 5 Box Office Opening

Bangistan has opened to a very poor response at the domestic box office on Friday. In fact, last week’s Drishyam had better occupancy for the morning shows, as compared to the Excel Entertainment produced film which has taken a opening of around 5-10%. To recover costs, Bangistan will now rely on word-of-mouth publicity. Growth on Saturday will be crucial for the film, but the early reports are not positive.

Drishyam Box Office Collections in 5 days

Drishyam is quickly emerging as Ajay Devgn’s best appreciated movie since Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010) and Singham (2011), as the film is not only sustaining well at the box office, but has shown growth on Tuesday. The collections are still on the lower side, but that is only because ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is still going strong in its 3rd weekend and the Hindi version of ‘Baahubali’ has also sustained well in Week 4.
