Singh Is Bling Day 1 (Friday) Box Office Collection Update

Akshay Kumar’s latest release ‘Singh Is Bling’ has opened very well at the box office on Friday. The morning shows in North India took the second best opening of 2015. The occupancy was way ahead of every other release this year, except Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The advance booking was good in circuits like Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Bihar, Rajasthan, Central India.. and these are the centres that opening very well on Friday morning.

The next two days will be hugely exciting if you’re a film buff. Akshay Kumar is ready with his 4th film of 2015 (after Baby, Gabbar Is Back, Brothers), as Singh Is Bliing releases less than 50 days after ‘Brothers’. This year, no Akshay film has crossed the 100 crore mark and the superstar would be hoping that Singh Is Bliing, under the direction of Prabhu Deva (responsible for giving Akshay his biggest grosser to date), turns out to be a huge hit at the box office.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon Day 1 (Friday) Box Office Collections

Kapil Sharma’s debut film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ has exceeded all expectations on Day 1, as the film has collected around Rs 8 crore on its opening day at the box office. The holiday for Bakrid has helped, but the opening still falls in the ‘excellent’ category as the opening is better than 90% of films released this year and is comparable to much bigger films like ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, ‘Phantom’ and even ‘Baby’. In fact, the opening is bigger than films like ‘Drishyam’, ‘Hero’ and ‘Piku’.

Katti Batti Day 1 (Friday) Box Office Collections and Saturday Update

Katti Batti has collected Rs 5.28 crore on its opening day at the box office. The film started slow in the morning, but business escalated towards the end of the day, giving the film a decent first dat at the ticket window. The fate of the Imran Khan – Kangana Ranaut starrer will now be dependent on the growth in business on both Saturday and Sunday. 

Hero Saturday Box Office Collections

Hero has shown a small drop in business on its second day at the box office, which is normal for films like these. A similar film, ‘Heropanti’, starring newcomers Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon, also showed similar drops. ‘Heropanti’ collected Rs 6.52 cr on Friday and Rs 6.29 cr on Saturday. In comparison, ‘Hero’ has collected Rs 6.85 crore on Friday and 6.62 crore on Saturday. However, ‘Heropanti’ showed huge growth on Sunday by collecting Rs 8.2 crore.

Welcome Back Sunday Box Office Update

Welcome Back is showing excellent trends in its first weekend at the box office. The film opened well on Friday, picked up on Saturday and shows on Sunday are running to packed houses at most places. The Anees Bazmee directed film has already collected Rs 31.4 crore in its first two days and the first weekend business could cross the 50 crore mark if the film manages to sustain through the rest of the day.

Welcome Back has recorded the 3rd highest opening day of 2015, beating films like ABCD 2 and Gabbar Is Back. The film starring John Abraham in the lead, opened well because the first film in the series was hugely popular and had tremendous recall value even though the last film released in 2007.
