Kapoor & Sons has collected Rs 47 crore in its first week at the box office. It’s the second highest first week business of the year after Akshay Kumar’s Airlift which released in January. The film has already recovered its costs and has emerged a ‘hit’ in just 7 days. Kapoor & Sons has performed very well in its first weekend at the box office. The film opened well on Friday, showed decent growth in business inspite of the big cricket match between India – Pakistan and showed huge growth in business on Sunday. The percentage of growth from Friday to Sunday is 72%, which also means the film have found acceptance amongst its target audience.

Kapoor & Sons has performed reasonably well on Day 1 at the box office. The film opened poorly, the occupancy was around 20% for the morning shows on Friday. But positive reports resulted in business showing an upward trend from noon itself.

FAN is set to be one of the shortest Shah Rukh Khan films, as the runtime of the Maneesh Sharma directed film will be similar to the superstar’s highest grosser Chennai Express. The runtime of FAN is 142 minutes. Shah Rukh’s last release Dilwale was about 13 minutes longer. From a box office point-of-view, shorter films have an advantage as multiplexes can screen more shows, which could result in higher opening day and weekend collections.
