2 States has collected Rs 6.1 crore on its first weekday at the domestic box office, which is a drop of around 48% from Saturday (only working day last weekend).
The drop is normal as ticket prices are reduced on weekdays at multiplexes. The occupancy at big centres was good throughout the day.
2 States is performing well in circuits like Mumbai, Mysore, Kerala/Tamilnadu, West Bengal.. but has under-performed in East Punjab, which could be due to last week’s regional release ‘Disco Singh’.
After a good weekend of around 37.62 crore, 2 States should collect around 58-59 crore in its first week. Three new movies release this week – Kaanchi, Revolver Rani and Samrat & Co – and all are likely to rely on word-of-mouth publicity.
So 2 States is likely to be the first choice this weekend too, unless any of the three new releases are received well.

Truly Awsome Movie… Alia bhatt too cute… chetan bhagat great book 2 states.. Emotional scene of movie when Arjun hugs his father at climax that made me cry instantly…!
Good movie but not great. Loved it in most big parts but small segments here n there were unnecessasry but loved Alia immense and Amritas character was rock steady. Third hindi movie I’ve seen in theatres this year n this one had enough light hearted moments to entertain every member of my family. Bcoz it entertained the wife n kids aswell as me then Im gonna be generous n give it that extra half star n rate it at 3.5. Only other drawback for me on a personal note was the songs as for me I love hindi movies bcoz of the songs in relation to western movies so I need one or two catchy numbers in there but none here to my liking unfortunately.
Good movie overall n the numbers are fabulous so wel done Team ‘2 States’.

43.72 cr is good collections but heard the budget of 2 states is 45 cr,so if that is true @indicine,how come you guys verdicted the film a Hit?
It was a very boring movie. Felt like leaving the hall in interval itself. Save your money and give it a miss.
