The response to the advance booking for Dhoom 3 has been phenomenal all over. The craze for the film in every circuit every centre across India, whether it is the single-screen dominated mass-centres or urban cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi, Hyderabad.. is incomparable to any release of 2013.
Even though Friday is a working day, the earth shattering response to the advance booking – what with most morning shows already sold-out – has meant that the film has an outside chance of collecting more than Rs 30 crore on Day 1.
65-70% of tickets in the Delhi/NCR region have been sold in advance. Ticket sales in other cities like Pune, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mangalore, just to name a few..is about 10-20% higher than even a holiday release like Chennai Express. Even in South Indian cities like Chennai and Coimbatore, the advance is as good as the Rohit Shetty Eid entertainer. The response for the regional version of the film has been pretty solid too.
It has been wrongly reported by a section of the media that the ticket prices of Dhoom 3 have been hiked by 20-30%. The truth is, the average ticket price is about the same as Chennai Express, slightly higher at select premium multiplexes. Since Dhoom 3 will be the first Bollywood film to release in the IMAX format, ticket prices range from Rs 400 for the morning shows to as high as Rs 900 for the night shows. However, the IMAX release is very limited to make a huge difference to the overall collections of the film.
Overall, Dhoom 3 will be released on approx 4450 – 4500 screens (including all versions) across India, which is the widest for any film ever. Even with such a huge release and a non-holiday Friday, about 30% of all tickets (until Thursday evening) have been sold already!

Will be interesting to see if it breaks CE’s opening weekend record.
Undoubtedly, it will take a huge opening at the box office. This franchise is too popular amongst the youth audience, add in the fact, Aamir is playing the main lead in the film, and its promos have been received well, too! It is almost certain to cross 25 crore on non holiday day one, I expect it to collect somewhere between 25-30 crores, which would be great for a non holiday release.
100+ crore in 3 days is guaranteed!
My prediction(as boi follower) considering good wom: fri-31 crs, sat-29 crs, sun-34 crs, weekend-94 crs, mon-15 crs, tue-16 crs, wed-24 crs, thu-12 crs, 1st week-151 crs, 2nd week-60 crs, 3rd week-20 crs, lifetime-240-250 crs.. Atbb..
thanx indicine finally you posted this thing and thanx of clear that no increase in ticket price at all, even i found the same on bookmyshow site and in jaipur i booked ticket for 6.30pm show of tmrw and there is not even a 1rs increase in ticket rates, i will watch the movie at same price i watched K3.
Dhoom 3 will break every possible records whether is highest non-holiday,weekend,fastest 100cr,first week, second weekend and 2nd week and also third week.
it will collect 300cr+ in domestic and 500cr worldwide though still 400cr worldwide hasn’t achieved yet, so Mr. Perfectionist will have another milestone with this film.
D3 its cheers time go for d3
Haters hide your faces in bill.
Fantastic news!
Krrish 3 was also released on 4500 screens..
So “Dhoom 3” is set for a 100+ crore weekend without paid preview.Just 3 days should be enough to achieve this 100 crore milestone.Dhoom mania everywhere.
This is Historic.Seen long lines outside theatres just for advance bookings.Thank God already booked tickets couple of days before.
Its funny how ETT opening day record was 32.92cr and since then, all the actors are increasing the screens and also the ticket prices. If Salman Khan does this on Eid 2014, then I think 300cr+ will not be impossible for him.
4500 screens….3 weeks open….what would you expect….
@ Sunny, i fully agree on this. Salman with Eid release and so many screens will create magic.
D3 jst fab….. speechless!
