‘Raabta’ has tanked on its second day, sealing the fate of the film as a box office disaster. Multiplex films usually tend to show growth on Saturday, but the collections of ‘Raabta’ has actually shown a drop – even though there was no major competition from older releases or cricket match involving India.
It’s one of the biggest disasters of the year. The landing costs isn’t as high as a ‘Rangoon’ but the poor trend suggests that ‘Raabta’ could in fact finish with a lesser lifetime total.
The big cricket match on Sunday will further affect film business and the crash on Monday looks inevitable.
The circuit-wise approximates for the first two days are as follows:
- Mumbai – 2.8 crore
- Delhi/UP – 1.9 crore
- East Punjab – 1 crore
- Rajasthan – 52 lakhs
- C.P Berar – 58 lakhs
- Central India – 40 lakhs
- Mysore – 38 lakhs
- West Bengal – 47 lakhs
- Andhra / Nizam – 49 lakhs
- Others – 55 lakhs
- 2 Days All-India Total – 9.1 crore (approx)
IndicineLBO: We are going with 20 crore as the lifetime business of ‘Raabta’. The audience has already started saving up for Salman Khan’s upcoming Eid release ‘Tubelight’ and the other smaller releases in between will be wiped out unless the content manages to generate interest.
Do note that the LBO figures of ‘Post-GST’ films (after July 1) will be adjusted after we get clarity over how it’s all going to work. The clash between ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ (JHMS) and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has been averted, which now reflects in the LBO. ‘Toilet EPK’ will be the film that’ll benefit from the major holiday, unless ‘JHMS’ really turns out to be an excellent film that powers through even after the first weekend at the box office. It’ll be a test for SRK as almost all his films in recent times have performed very well in the first weekend, but have fallen during the weekdays. More on this after the trailer of ‘Toilet: EPK’ is out later today. We will also be adjusting the LBO depending on the response that the trailer gets.

Disasters will come n go but noone can match Bombay Velvet, the disaster which set a benchmark for other disasters but still ruling the disaster list like a boss ?
Come on Bollywood .. Do something Creative.
Mostly films are Remake, copy of other films .same Love stories. Adaptations so how audience can waste their money for such crap films.
In my opinion sushant is brilliant actor but he need good director and script.
150 for JHMS? REALLY? 100 to 3 day weekend mein hi Kar denge hum. Srkians are getting a solo release after long. We are like bhookhe bhediye ? Don’t underestimate us
I seriously want SRK to shelve this maha-crap called Jab Harry met Sejal. It will only cost him his audience. I m damn sure this wont work and SRK will further go down
170cr for Padmavati? I think thats too much
Susant’s ego… And behaving like a superstar is the main reason for this disaster
No doubt sushant is tqlented…bt I think in present time choosing films are more important than acting… cause we can see tuger an average actor… is quite successful with his first 3 films (flying jatt was a hit on tv) and then we have rajkumar rao who acts as per as the senior actors almost like manoj and nawaz…bt gets unnoticed as he does films like trapped and behen hogi teri… both he and sushant shouldfollow nawaz and irrfan khan who acts in both mainstream and commercial cinema
Yeh tufaan keep aane se pehle km sannata hai.
After all these disasters in June are showing that people has started saving money for upcoming All Time Blockbuster
Tubelight……
The internal response to the TEPK trailer is superb, from other box office websites, Pahlaj Nihlani, etc. If SRK film doesn’t live upto expectations, looks likely due to the genre and director, then TEPK will rule from 11 August onwards and can stay on level/equal/surpass JHMS just like Hindi Medium did with HG.
Toofan se pahle ka sannata
Where is hritik roshan? ?? Why does he does so few films???? He will very soon be lost… if even his nxt film flops as he does 1film in 2 years. ..he has just wasted his superb talebt and fanbase by giving dissapointing films… bt I am a big fan if him… for aamir khan its different as he churns out masterpiece after every 2 years… I
Now Sushant should act as a new comer once again not like Experience Dhoni…Let Dhoni do what He does..and be youself….You r not a star till now…only a Good Actor…but there r so many options now a days!! Everybody should understand His/Her negatives very well so that He/She can cover those up with His/Her Positives!!that’s why Varun is way ahead(not a fan of Varun;but that’s a fact) ?
BAjirao mastani was 187 cr ( with clash SRK ) then why solo relase padmavati is only 170 cr ? I think u will change your predict after trailer relase ;)
Fail gaya raaytaa ! overacting lead pair looked like brother-sister in this damp squib.. even Deepika tried to put some oomph factor , but she is no more attractive and lost her ground after alia overtook her and also after the much hyped disaster xxx !
If srk is humble than im Amitabh bachchan….
Srk is one clever chameleon….
Rabata was flop d day when its trailer were released….thats y makers were spreading rumours of SSR and kriti affair just to keep the film in news….any its flop now….
Salman Khan power 300 Eid and 330 christmas.. The power of bhaijaan..
Bank CHOR. 15 crores LBO? It’s okay, coz I must watch it.
@ Ceiling Khan. Don’t worry about Hrithik. He is still enjoying his 60 crores from Mohenjo Daro. When it gets exhausted, he will sign a movie. Until then, we can only watch and wait for his marathi cameos and ads … Let’s just pray for his thinking in choice of movies to improve instead of always signing with only producers that can pay him 60 crores.
Raabta LBO 20 crores ? Well, u can still fall back on TV SSR, or probably go back to Ankita if she will agree to take u back. Lol
@indicine i noticed very astutely that you didn’t posted even a single line on Hindi medium. you didn’t give the review of the movie not did you posted the collections of Hindi medium nor did you included Hindi medium in your box office predictions or list of grosser list. may i know the reason for this deliberate neglect.
@ceiling fan
In a right film Hritik is 4th biggest star after Aamir Salman and SRK
Plus he has Krissh brand with him
