Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees continued to perform very well at the box office on Day 4. The growth in business on Saturday was excellent, with the film performing both at single-screens and multiplexes.
The trend is pretty good too, as massy films like Raees do not usually perform in circuits like Mysore and West Bengal – but it’s the box office pull of Shah Rukh Khan’s that is ensuring high occupancy both at smaller centres as well as high end multiplexes.
However, the clash is beginning to have an impact on the film at the box office as the other film ‘Kaabil’ is carrying excellent word-of-mouth. The audience that has to choose between the two films is dividing business and stopping Raees from reaching its true potential.
Even though Raees has got a much wider release, higher number of shows as well as screens that have higher seating capacity - there was demand for more tickets at select centres, especially during the late evening / night shows on Saturday.
Going forward, the key for Raees is going to be the family audience. The makers have realised this quite early that the families are not coming in enough numbers and maybe even choosing Kaabil instead, hence the promotional campaign has now shifted to ‘Raees with Family’ – a trend which SRK is going all out to promote.
For the first time in a very long time, the muslim section of the audience is coming out in very big numbers to watch the film. Raees has become a craze in muslim dominated areas, which also goes to show that this film was just about perfect for Eid. Even the Bakrid period was a better date and would’ve ensured much bigger collections. Too late, unfortunately.

@Indicine also published an article that if not Eid 2016 the best date for Raees was Bakrid (September 9). If you see the bigger loss will for Raees not Kaabil. Raees makers & SRK underestimated Kaabil big time but it turned out to be good. There is no way Kaabil can be complete rejection like Mohenjo Daro and will burn a big whole in Raees collections. Kaabil looks safe with 75 + crs net collections.
Kaabil is gaining momentum. So its impossible for Srk to have a 100 cr weekend even 100cr extended weekend like Dabbang 2 Singham Returns Bang Bang or even their 1st week looks Ghanta for Raees.
I saw both Raees and kaabil… Raees was much better than Kaabil… Kaabil story was predictable but raees has twist and turns especially the second half. I am sure Raees will sustain throughout the week compared to Kaabil which will face a big drop from monday….

Raees prooves one fact about SRK that he is not at all going through a bad phase…. but he was going through bad choices of film….. the opening and kraze for raees shows that ppl are willing to watch him … just he needs to come up with a good script and a solo release with that he can be on a record breaking spree with ease….ppl love him and few hate him…… but still they all want him……. he was always there as one of the top superstars and he will ve there for a long time to come…. raees prooves he isnt laagging behind anyone….. he is right there….. but needs a right script…..

I was very much surprised and impressed by your accurate FBO predictions and later LBO predictions of each films..
But I am a little bit confused by the way of you reviewing a film before release, after release, and also after the final verdict.
For example you guys were praising and celebrating each and every aspects of movies like Mohanjodaro, Fan, Dilwale…etc..at the time of pre production , post production and even after releasing. You praised the casts, trailers, directors, story line, and scripts , and lead actors performance, also you gave rave reviews from 3 stars to 4 stars…
But shockingly things turned around and you just changed your colour. All the above movies failed or underperformed at the Box office and you guys just started to find negatives.
You criticised the lead actor’s poor choice of scripts and also blamed the directors and questioned their capabilities. And finally you made the conclusions that the lead actors lacks script sense.I agree with you, but my point is you never mentioned those things earlier. After a movie’s failure anybody can criticise scripts, blame directors and question his skills.
Ok past is past; now let’s talk about the current movies Raees and Kaabil…
