It’s been a disastrous couple of weeks for the industry, as the trade has put the blame on the demonetisation of currency notes as the reason for poor business. However, the question is whether the audience was ever interested in watching films like ‘Rock On 2’ and ‘Tum Bin 2’. Even ‘Force 2’ hasn’t really opened upto expectations, much like John Abraham’s last release ‘Rocky Handsome’.
On the other hand, the Hollywood release ‘Doctor Strange’ has sustained well and even the Diwali releases (ADHM and Shivaay) have higher footfalls as compared to last week’s ‘Rock On 2’. Even the Punjabi release ‘Chaar Sahibzaade 2’ has done fairly well in its first week.
‘Force 2’ has failed to the make it to the Top 25 opening this year. It finds a place below films like Azhar and Raaz Reboot, both of which took average stars, needing good trends over the weekend to recover costs.
Sultan remains the biggest opener of the year by a country mile, reaffirming Salman Khan’s box office dominance. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is the only other film to cross the 20 crore mark on Day 1. Dangal is likely to join the list to take the number to 3.
Only five Hindi films fall in the ‘excellent’ or above category of openings – Sultan, MS Dhoni biopic and Baaghi are the solo releases. Two others films that opened very well inspite of competition from big films were ‘Rustom’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
In 2015, four films had crossed the 20 crore mark on Day 1. Two of which belonged to Salman Khan (Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bajrangi Bhaijaan), one to Shah Rukh Khan (Diwale) and the other was Akshay Kumar on a national holiday (Singh Is Bling).

When I watched Trailer, First view is awe-inspiring, wonderfully made and appears to tell the real story of wrestling.
Every Aamir khan movie has a social message communicated subtly. This one promotes gender equality and opportunities for girl child.
P.S. If the fake wrestling movie released earlier in 2016 was a success, this one will be a mega success. No offense to Salman fans!
when Aamir Khan takes up a movie assignment, like a true professional actor he gets into the skin of his character in order to portray it most effectively. He is said to get into every aspect of the movie, including its technicality as well as its marketing and publicity effort. He is totally dedicated to its success all the way. That is why he is paid a fortune for his ‘total commitment’.
Hence, it would be more appropriate to say that Aamir Khan will get huge success for the movie ‘Dangal
The trailer showed the glimpses of the hard work and effort that Aamir and his team have put up. With the new look, Aamir seems to have done justice to the character as usual. Dangal is promising to be a sensational hit this Christmas.
Quite curious as what the movie has more to offer. As most of the Aamir Khan movies, I now feel even Dangal would be a movie which would be associated with social awareness regarding certain traditions and the mentality which are still prominent in certain parts of India.

The story of Dangal revolves around the real life incidents of famous wrestler Mahavir Phogat from Haryana who has now trained his two daughters Geeta and Babita Phogat as professional wrestlers. Geeta and Babita are set to participate in the upcoming Pro Wrestling League, an IPL-like sports venture by ITV Network and Sporty Solutionz which will see participation from famous wrestlers across the globe. The story is about women power so I think I will be huge hit.

2016 has been a really bad year in terms of Box Office . MD, Fan and Shivaay are the big movies that have failed . Akshay and Salman had a terrific year . Sushant is on a purple watch after the massive success of MSD . Ranbir has once again tasted success after 4 back to back failures . Sid had a mixed year with K&S and BBD . The success of Force 2, Kahaani 2, DZ, Wajah Tum Ho, Befikre and Dangal is extremely important . 2017 looks a big year because of Kaabil, Raees, Jolly LLB 2, Baahubali 2, Baadshaho, HG, BKD, Judwaa 2, Crack, TEPK, Robot 2.0, Tubelight, TZH, Padmavati and Rangoon . !!!!!!!!!!!

Dangal is sure to collect 20cr+ but I want that Dangal will open above 30cr on its first day but that is a very tough task as the trailer is not giving feel of a universal entertaining movie though it will be a universal appealing movie.
I think Fan opening was excellent, while MS dhoni opening was bumper. How can a movie like Dhoni which released on non-holiday without backing of an established actor collecting 20cr+ marked as excellent, it is bumper with factors included.
Yesterday also in top actors article Indicine given a poor example of comparing Akshay 3 films in single year success with Salman’s 3 films in 12 month span. Dear admin you can’t consider films like this.
In that rule Aamirs D3 and Pk were released in just a gap of 1 year. You can’t cut down someone achievement like that. Remember among Akshay 3 films this year, 2 were niche films in which one has clash too, Only house full 3 was universal film but that franchise it self was utter crap for me. In that case why you can’t say Akshay had 5 releases in 12 month gap (Brothers,SIB,Airlift,Housefull 3 & Rustom) I.e. 14 Aug 2015 to 12 Aug 2016. Salman has enjoying extraordinary run and not every one can match that but that doesn’t mean that other need to achieve that level for being called successful. For me this Year belong to Salman and akki both (same like 2012) IF dangal joined 300cr, than Aamir will join them.
Don’t know now a days who runs Indicine as we are having such non sense articles these days, for example Koi mil gaya topped the trp last week. Seriously.
Sultan collected more than 30 crores on 5 consecutive days.
