Rock On 2 had a disastrous opening day at the box office, collecting just Rs 2.02 crore on its first day at the ticket window. The collections are lower than a disaster like ‘Mirzya’ and the Farhan Akhtar film hasn’t even made it to the Top 40 list of highest opening this year.
The fate of the film is sealed on the first day itself as the collections are way too low and the reports from theatres isn’t very positive. The demonetisation of 500/1000 rupee notes has had an impact on collections, but even that cannot be an excuse for such low numbers.
If Rock On 2 doesn’t double its Friday collections on Saturday, the film is at a risk of becoming one of the biggest disasters of 2016. It could even struggle to recover its marketing costs if the first weekend business does not cross the 10 crore mark.

Not sure what went wrong with this movie. I watched this movie today and liked it. It is not a great film but it is definitely one of the good films i have watched in recent times. A good sequel but i just felt the movie lacked one classic rock song like “Sindabad the Sailor” or “Rock On” from Rock On. Also i felt instead of taking shradda they should have taken some A-star actress. I would rate 3.5/5. It is worth a watch. Disappointed with the collections.
