Q. Have heard rumours about Raees vs Sultan not happening and it is Raees that is moving ahead. Any truth in that? – ANK
A. Although an official announcement is yet to be made, it’s more or less certain now that Raees will be moving to a different date. Reliable sources have now confirmed that Sultan will get a solo release.
Two massive films like Raees and Sultan simply cannot get the release they deserve, if they release on the same day. Given Salman’s track record during Eid and the average performance of Dilwale at the domestic box office, Sultan was always the hotter film in the trade. Right from the day YRF announced the film for Eid, there was never really any question or doubt over that.
Q. Will the excellent opening and a potential strong weekdays hold of The Jungle Book affect the final screen count of FAN? – Ashish Thapar
A. FAN might lose out on a few shows at multiplexes, as exhibitors might retain more shows of ‘The Jungle Book’. It would also depend on how well the Hollywood film holds on Friday, but it isn’t going to make much of a difference. The fate of FAN is dependent on how well the film is liked by the audience, nothing else matters.
Q. Which film takes 100% opening on first day & collected to its full potential? – Pratik
A. No film in the last 10 years has taken a 100% opening. The last film that really opened to a earth-shattering response was Ek Tha Tiger, followed by Dhoom 3. The year-on-year growth was phenomenal - Bodyguard did 21 crore and Ek Tha Tiger collected nearly 50% more.
I had said earlier they have made so much hype of this clash they now should clash and not backout.

@SK, there shouldn’t be any ego issues when it comes to the release date of films. It’s not only about SRK or Salman, but thousands of other people who work on a film. A lot of money is at stake. Both films doing well is very important for the industry.
Raees was perfect for Eid, but it’s suicidal to take on Salman + YRF. The only hope would be extremely positive WOM. But even then, giving a film a good release is essential, as the share at multiplexes drops in Week 2 and investors lose. There is a no way that Raees would have got a good single-screen release either. Both because of Salman and YRF factor.
Overseas, it would have been the opposite, but domestic is way more important.
I really hope these are just rumours & the makers haven’t decided to postpone the movie. We want Raees on Eid, whether or not it is clashing with Sultan.
If YRF wants, they can move Sultan, their wish.
Please don’t move Raees. Just hope the rumours are fake.

We all know that Sultan is a bigger film and much hotter too..we all knew that Sultan will take a bigger opening also solely because it has salman Khan in it..but the 1 minute teaser of Raees was the best teaser I say after Ek Tha Tiger and hence I wanted it to release on Eid..
Very disappointed to see that Raees is being postponed..and I don’t think any good release date is vacant now..Great Grand Masti is on 22 july,Dishoom on 29th.then we have a clash on independence day.A flying jatt is releasing on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh chaturthi.. Rangoon is booked for Gandhi jayanti weekend,Mirzya is coming on dussehra..then Diwali has another clash and ultimately Dangal on Christmas..Raees will now be releasing on a complete non holiday week..safe to say that once again Shahrukh Khan will not be having the highest grosser of the year and now the ultimate battle is again between Salman and Aamir..Anyways,first of all lets see what FAN can do this Friday.
@IndiCine : Moving to a different date means postponed or pre-poned? Surely a movie that has wrapped up the shoot a week back won’t be postponing for a movie whose shoot is still going on…isn’t it?
@Thug, they can’t prepone it. Both because film won’t be ready and the gap between FAN and Raees will be too less.

If they are true I’ll not watch raess.. Not even if it is the best movie ever.. I was never excited about any movie as I was for raess but if it is postponed then the excitement will go in ashtray…

My point is answer fast …. as many question as possible… No problem of short answer but required more answer of question… Every time u get 300 min question but u answered just of 50 … Improve it to 75 to 80

Agreed @Indicine. But still from past 1 year it was going clash-clash-clash.
Didnt they thought about all these issues before. Even when Dilwale failed against Bajirao, makers of Raees insisted clash is on and Raees wont avert.
Thats why used those harsh words. Now the teaser of Sultan is about to release and they postpone raees. Its a shame. Possibly Srk may have seen it and thats why this. or may be he is not confident about fan and feels it may not work and if raees also clashes with sultan then he may have 2 average films in a year. Dont know whata in his head.
@SK, but there was also a chance of Sultan shoot getting delayed. If that had happened, Raees would have got a solo release. That was probably the whole idea.
Having said all this, we only truly believe it once an official announcement is made.
Now srk should change his last line from raees teaser, “aa raha hu main” to “ja raha hu main”…

I mean SULTAN buzz is way big compared to Raees,considering SULTAN has no poster nor trailer,trust me when the teaser releases the buzz will sky rocket for sure.
So sanity prevails at last. From begining my view was that it was too big a clash to happen and the number of screens were not enough to accomodate these 2 huge stars. Only in the recent times had I started believing that the clash will happen.
But great news for Salman fans and disappointment for SRK fans that it is Raees that has to move. Salman fans will get enough ammunition to bash SRK fans so happy bashing times to them in advance.
But SRK fans should not view it as SRK backing out rather than these decisions are taken by the producers. And yes the domestic performance of Dilwale in a clash may have dented their confidence a bit saddeningly.
The only problem I have with Raees team is that why did they take the decision so late after creating so much buzz? The only plausible explanation I can come up with is that Raees team may have thought that Sultan might not be ready by Eid.
Anyways dont know when will Raees release now. But will wait for it equally.
As far as Sultan is concerned, with a solo release the stage is all set for it to become a huge blockbuster. Considering that other big movies are facing clashes, Sultan and Dangal are now the top 2 contendors for the biggest grosser of the year for me.
But whatever happens love u SRK and waiting for Fan.

Is it fair that movies like Dangal and Mohen jodaro fix their release date almost 2years back.
all of a sudden other movies also comes as obstacles like Bahubali and Rustom..

Whatever @Indicine It looks certain that Sultan will get solo release. So now we can say that Sultan is the frontrunner for HGOTY (it always was but with a solo release its just got more bigger). And PK record definately in trouble now if Wom is excellent.
