The Hindi Film Industry has made its mark at the National Awards this year. S. S. Rajamouli’s historical epic ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ has won the National award for Best Film.
Bajirao Mastani, which is yet another historical film that did well last year, won director Sanjay Leela Bhansali the Best Director award. After winning the most prestigious award in the country, Bhansali said “Whether it is mainstream, art-house or parallel cinema, the director and cinematographer have toiled hard on the film and I am ecstatic to win the Award”
The legendary Amitabh Bachchan won the Best Actor award for ‘Piku’ and Kangana Ranaut was declared the Best Actress for her performance in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’.
- Best Film: Baahubali – The Beginning
- Best Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali – Bajirao Mastani
- Best Actor: Amitabh Bachchan – Piku
- Best Actress: Kangana Ranaut – Tanu Weds Manu Returns

Really amitabh for piku? ?…it is so overrated…..but kangna was awesome in twmr ..nd just watch guzaarish, o man what a performance by hritik roshan….one of the best ever in the history of bollywood along shahrukh in my name is khan …..but he didn’t win any award for that performance….shame on these awards….

SS Rajamouli completely deserves the award . I don’t think SLB and Big B deserve national award for BM and Piku respectively . Kangana was absolutely brilliant in TWMR and this is her 3rd national award . I feel SS Rajamouli deserved to win the Best Director . Amit Ji was amazing in Piku but I don’t think it was an national award winning performance . Akshay in Baby and Ajay in Drishyam were better than Big B in Piku . Congratulations to all the winners and would love to see Hrithik winning National Award one day .

though Kangana winning is the best thing. she was absolutely brilliant. And her win is a tight slap to all film-fake awards who rewarded Deepika for piku which was no where close to what kangana did in twmr.

National awards are given by politicial thats why ignoring khans. BB deseve to win award, srk in chak de deserve kabir khan deserve instade of bhansali, yes saif won because his mother was in jury member otherwise its impossible for a mohamedam to win national award
