Wazir will be the first big release of 2016 and the film isn’t carrying any buzz, even though it has a good star cast comprising of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Aditi Rao Hydari, Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham in a special appearance.
In an effort to increase awareness and showcase his confidence in the film, Vidhu Vinod Chopra has organised plenty of screenings. To a certain extent he has been successful because positive reviews have been flowing on social media websites. But very rarely does this actually convert into ticket sales on Day 1.
As part of our weekly IndicineFBO box office predictions, we expect Wazir to take a opening of around Rs 4.4 crore and then grow over the weekend, depending on what sort of response the film gets from the audience.
For a film with limited appeal – even if it gets a positive response – it remains to be seen how well Wazir performs outside metro cities. It’s a medium budget film with landing costs of around 32-35 crore and recovery will not be easy if word-of-mouth isn’t overwhelmingly positive.
Meanwhile, Bajirao Mastani will continue to provide stiff competition, as the film will be running throughout the day at most multiplexes.

single screen audiences also comes to enjoy action thriller movies.But in the case of wazir its running time of 102mins which will restrict many.It would have been better if wazir might have released in DEC 4 2015 because at that time tamasha did well in multiplexes,which is wazir’s target audience.
I will watch wazir for all performances specially performances of Amitabh ji & Nil Nitin Mukesh
I really like Farhaan Akhtar as an artiste be it Farhaan the director, the singer or the actor. Also, i have seen all his movies in big screen but for reason Wazir looks a dud..
Planning to skip it.
Coming back to box office for the month of January.I really hope Airlift opena well, such movies deserve chance.
My prediction for January, opening day box office collection..
1. Kya Kool hain hum 8-9 cr
2. Airlft 8- 8.5 cr
3. Mastizaade 6 cr
Final note, i would be really shameful if KKHH opens better than Airlift..
For the love of cinema, i urge everyone to watch Airlift..

srk filmography analysis: since 2008 srk has released 8 films in 8 years(excluding billu)-dilwale,hny,ce,jthj,don2,ra.one,my name is khan,(billu,)rab ne bana di jodi..ra.one is average despite diwali & huge promotions, don2 despite a solo xmas release & sequel of a hit film,couldnt surpass/cross the same year’s ready’s non-holiday collection. Hny which spoiled the diwali festival,is again a 150club hit last year acc to trade. I won say hny benefited for being a multistarer.but yes depika in a highly promoted film/an entertaining genre(even romance) is great helpful for box office collection. If hny had jackeline instead of depika,it would struggle to reach 150. Similarly,without pan-india buzz creating lungi dance,depika’s great comedy,tribute to rajni for increasing collection in south india,ce would struggle to reach 200. Check my comments before dilwale release. I said without depika,dilwale wont cross 200(even solo). Jthj with a genius director came close to lose to sos.before 18dec,indicine was giving excuse that sos was a masala genre. What happened to dilwale with masala genre?now indicine talks about word of mouth. In 2008 dec,rab ne was running with a good word of mouth but action avtar ghajini came (not extraordinary word of mouth) & became atbb when rab ne became a small blockbuster.even my name is khan made distributors lose money.so karan johar is directing student of year & ae dil hai muskil. Billu with srk’s three songs with karena,pc,depika was like fan but flop.

Wazir is given 3 out of 5 stars for thriller. Which is not great but solid good thriller gets. not bad.

I think airlift will opening around 11-13 cr did to hit songs and also TRAILER and TEASER have been taken fantastic response from the audience and looks have better promoting than baby .I hope audience gave film like airlift what he deserving and akki sir also deserving respect for his doing films like airlift
Plz, I request all my brothers n sisters to watch airlift. How these nonsense movies like kkhh3,mastizaade can release during republic day period. At least we can see the real truth about our fellow Indians who were caught in the bizarre war. Its the only way to salute the person who rescued them or paved the way of freedom from Iraq. I am a simply Indian nothing more. At least we know which movie will make us proud.
