Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani has matched the record of Rajkumar Hirani’s PK, to become only the second film in the history of Indian Cinema to collect Rs 5 crore or more on every single day for 17 continuous days.
In comparison, both Bajrangi Bhaijaan and 3 Idiots dropped below the 5 crore mark on their 15th day at the box office.
The record is of immense significance because only films that carry good word-of-mouth and trend well, can sustain above the 5 crore mark for more than 17 days.

bajirao mastani was good movie….I always wished it to be big it…since I am maharashtrian ….but fact is that loss of dilwale became gain for bajirao mastani…..even though its good movie it benefited by at least 50cr….n dilwale lost 50cr due to negativity. ….I am not talking abt clash. ..m only talking abt negativity n bycott campaign

@Ace Yeah. Inspite of having huge brand Don 2 barely did 102 crore on Christmas, less than 2008’s Ghajini.
Today i watched both movies. As i am history student i can say that Bajirao Mastani is best historical movie in indian cinema history. Minor historical events are shown brilliantly (approval of shahu maharaj to mastani ). And among three of main leads Priyanka chopra is clearly winner followed by Ranveer.
On the other hand Dilwale is typical bollywood masala with all old ingredients.Faltu movie.
