Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has recorded the second highest single day collections in the history of the Hindi film industry. The collections are only below the more commercial ‘Happy New Year’ which released on the same holiday, on fewer screens, last year.
Some points:
- Out of the Top 25 highest single day collections, Salman Khan dominates with his films finding a mention 10 times.
- SRK and Aamir Khan have managed to make it to the Top 25, 6 times each. Followed by Hrithik Roshan – 3 times and Ajay Devgn – once.
- Salman has made it to the list on four non-holidays, which is the highest for any actor.
- Hrithik Roshan is the only actor to find a mention in the Top 25 during a clash. Haider released on the same day.
- The oldest film in the list is the first day collections of Ek Tha Tiger (2012).

41.75 CR are huge collections for first day . But it should have broken the record of HNY . By the way i saw PRDP yesterday with my family and it is a pathetic movie . The movie is extremely slow and too long . It has too many songs and most of them are pretty average . Only 2 songs are good – Title song and Jalte Diye . Direction is absolutely terrible . This is the worst movie of Salman – Sooraj Combo . The casting was a huge blunder . Sonam could not do anything substantial in the movie . There was no amazing chemistry between Salman and Sonam . Armaan Kohli can be called as Overacting ki Dukaan . Neil was wasted in the movie completely . Anupam has done a good job . Swara has done a good job but her character needed much more scope . Deepak was quite good and Salman was ok nothing special . Prem Dilwala is not as convincing as Prem in MPK, HAHK and HSSH . I don’t know what kind of action was in the movie ? Only 2 ordinary action sequences . Sooraj tried to do too many things – Action, Romance, Comedy, Drama and Family Politics . But he failed in every aspect . There was no need of so many songs . The length should have been short by at least 20 to 30 minutes . The football sequence is absolutely crappy and is shown in a terrible manner . The only thing which is good is the scale of the movie . The sets look grand and Sheesh Mahal was Outstanding but SB did not worked on the story or the script . The chariot scene is also shown in a lavish manner . Honestly this is the worst movie of SB along with MPKDH . Simplicity was the X – Factor in his movies but it was missing in PRDP . I want to clarify i liked
HAHK and HSSH . I have not seen MPK completely . Family values is brilliantly shown in Rajshri movies but there was a clutter in PRDP . This movie should have been made in the 90’s . I expect Crap from Arbaaz, Sohail, Sajid Nadiadwala and Atul Agnihotri . But i never expected this shit from Rajshri and Sooraj . When i saw the trailer i knew it will not be HAHK or HSSH but i thought it will be a decent movie but i was completely disappointed and irritated with the result . It will face a massive crash . Last year HNY had a solid opening but it crawled in the 200 CR Club . How well it will sustain in the weekdays will decide the lifetime collections of the movie . After BB i was happy that Salman did a good movie after a long time and gave a brilliant performance but PRDP is a crap
And it is the worst movie i have seen in 2015 in a theater . Best of Luck Salman Fans !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
