Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 has exceeded all trade expectations in its 5 days and has emerged as one of the biggest surprise hits of the year so far.
The film took a very good start on Friday and showed excellent trends over the weekend, even on Sunday when business of the film was affected by the cricket match.
Pyaar Ka Punchnam 2 has also benefited from the extended holidays in parts of the country for Durga Puja related festivities.
The sequel has already tripled the collections of the first film. It should finish Week 1 with net box office collections of around 37 crore. Since trends during the weekdays is good, it remains to be seen how much the film can collect after the release of ‘Shaandaar’ on Thursday.

People like entertainers/light hearted films and first film was very good. Release of shandaar could dent its collections a lot though.

Amazing . Once again this proves that sequels work in India big time . I am glad to see PKP 2 doing extraordinary business even in the Pre Diwali period . Tomorrow Shaandaar will release and then we will know what kind of impact it can make on PKP 2 . The director of this movie Luv Ranjan should be given more chances . Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of PKP 2 for huge success . I have still not watched but i want to see . This year the small movies have surprised everybody such as DLKH, NH10, Piku, KKPK, Talvar and now PKP 2 .

The movie literally slapped in the face of Indicine n other so called critics who wrote it off. Brilliant entertainer I must say. Its rated as high as 8.6 on IMDb and Indicine rated it 1*/5. This proves only one thing that movie lovers don’t give a damn to these self proclaimed critics. Go PKP2, Make your predecessor proud.
Well I knew dis movie is going to rule box office. No matter how many parts Dey make it will be hit if Dey can keep dat entertainment Quotient in it bcoz youth will always connect to it.
