‘Katti Batti’ starring Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut releases in theatres today. The film marks the comeback of Imran after the 2013 debacle ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’. Director Nikhil Advani continued his poor run, with ‘Hero’ failing to make any impact at the box office. ‘Katti Batti’ would be his second release in two weeks.
The only factor in favour of the movie is the presence of Kangana Ranaut, whose last film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ went on to collect more than Rs 250 crore worldwide.
However, ’Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ was a sequel to a popular film and the trailer also received a overwhelmingly positive response. That hasn’t been the case with ‘Katti Batti’ as both the trailer and the music hasn’t been received well enough to ensure a good opening at the box office on Friday. The makers have also been promoting Aamir Khan’s influence on ‘Katti Batti’, but that’s unlikely to help the film either.
