Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty’s debut film ‘Hero’ has recorded the 14th highest opening day collections of 2015 and the second highest opening for a film only featuring newcomers. The highest ever for a newcomer film is Varun Dhawan – Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt’s Student Of The Year directed by Karan Johar.
Inspite of a major superstar like Salman Khan going all out to promote his home production, ‘Hero’ only managed to collect about 5% higher than Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Heropanti’ last year.

Absolutely terrible movie that screams, “Watch the original Hero”. I was so severely disappointed. This interpretation far from the original work, which was fantastic. If ever there was the quintessential “the original movie is so much better than this remake” example, this is it.
The only thing I liked about this movie is Salman Khan’s song. It was a melodies one. Otherwise Hero is absolutely a crap remake. Please stay away and don’t waste your money and time.
It is also worth noted that Heropanti was released 1 year ago in lesser number of screens, and Salman didn’t promote it, either.
Opening of Hero is fairly good for debutants, but I don’t see it passing Monday test, though given the response.
