Eros International’s Shamitabh releases in theatres tomorrow. The trailers of the film have managed to create curiosity amongst the audience, but there is hardly any real buzz that would result in a good opening day.
Amitabh Bachchan’s last release ‘Bhootnath Returns’ collected Rs 3.4 crore on Day 1 and his last film with R. Balki – 2009’s Paa collected Rs 2 crore on its opening day.
We expect Shamitabh to take a Rs 4 crore opening on Day 1 and then grow on word-of-mouth.
After a disastrous 2014 and the failure of ‘Tevar’ earlier this year, the success of Shamitabh would be important for Eros International, who have one more big release this month – Varun Dhawan’s Badlapur.

This is going to be a great film without a doubt. Balki never fails. Shamitabh is expected to be appreciated by critics as usual. I will surely watch for the Nation’s Best Actor ever – Bachchan sahab, One of the best directors’ of the country – Balki and one of my favorites – Dhanush (He would be awesome as always).
I wish SRK had agreed to do the film, yes, it did disappoint me when he did not!
