Veteran actor, director and producer Deven Verma, 77, passes away on Tuesday following a heart attack and kidney failure.
He is survived by his wife Rupa Ganguly, the younger daughter of the late legendary actor Ashok Kumar.
Verma breathed his last around 2 a.m. at his home in Pune, the city of his birth from where he graduated in politics and sociology before joining the film industry.
Verma is best known for his performances in films like Andaz Apna Apna, Angoor, Bemisal, Judaai, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kora Kagaz and many others.
The funeral will be performed Tuesday afternoon at the Yerawada crematorium.

He was a really good actor . I have seen AAA, Dil and Ishq . I loved his chemistry with Aamir in AAA . He was a brilliant comedian and has shown his magic in movies like Angoor, Chori Mera Kaam etc. May his Soul Rest in Peace .

Sad news.Deven Sir was one of the finest character artist and comedians.I haven’t seen Angoor but loved his performance in AAA, Dil,Ishq,Kya kehna,Chamatkar etc.
