Haider has shown incredible growth on its second day at the domestic box office. The film has collected Rs 6.94 crore on Day 2, which is about 13% higher than its first day collections.
While the business of the film is restricted to high-end multiplexes in cities, the fact that Haider is carrying fantastic word-of-mouth publicity has helped. Also, like the saying goes, ‘good or bad, publicity is still publicity’. The controversy surrounding the film might have also helped boost it business as hashtags like #HaiderTrueCinema and #BoycottHaider have been trending non-stop on Twitter and Facebook.
The Shahid Kapoor starrer is expected to grow over the weekend and could get close to the 28 crore mark by Sunday, which is fantastic considering the genre of the film and the clash with a massive release like Bang Bang.

haider will again have a jump today i think, after that it won’t jump much on sunday. And will fall badly in the weekdays. Even though Haider is the kind of movie i love, i don’t think it has a market in India and shahid doesn’t have that kind of star power to make it a big hit either.

Yesterday I had the misfortune to view
#Haider. I was utterly disgusted to see this
movie. It was like being in Pakistan all the
time.
This movie show that Indian Army is worse
than ISIS & paint Kashmiri terrorists as
victims. It ignore plight of Kashmiri Hindu
forced out of their homes.
It destroy our culture by showing a mother
lip kissing her son.
It glorify Jehadi violence by showing how
satisfying it is to kill someone by crushing
his skull with a stone.
It shows a devot Muslim girl enjoying
premarital sex with her childhood friend
which is punishable by stoning to death as
per Sharia.
It is show Hindu temple as mindless cult &
Shahid is seen as dancing in temple with
shoe.
It glorifies human bombers and grave
diggers. It mocks skull of dead people.
It equates beggar nation Pakistan to mighty
Bharat by calling both as Lions trying to eat
Kashmir.
It such a irony such a irony that this anti
Indian movie is made in India with Indian
Stars & cleared by Indian Censor Board. We
are paying money to watch a movie which is
prejudice to our own interest.
Overall this movie will promote animosity
between people & is seditious. The censor
chief should be sacked & production team
should be suitably investigated & charge
sheeted.
Till this movie #Haider is banned we all
should #boycott it

Why some fools are comparing a commercial action movie like Bang Bang with an off-beat social drama like haider.it’s being done by salman and srkfans too. They should compare Udaan with CE,queen with Dhoom 3 and lootera with all salman movies also. Losers. . However, if haider is a nice film,it definitely deserves success.
Haider not only grow during weekned but also trending good during weekdays, 3week free run in 1000screen is enough for haider to become super hit

Absolutly loved the movie.. now its called the movie with some script and fantastic acting.. Bang bang is not even near to knight and day.. Hrithik is brilliant but he must do some gud movies not the remakes and katrina was just irritating

i respect your views but please try to see the other side of the coin too. don’t forget it is based in 1995 when insurgency was at its peak. what it portrays is harsh truth. have the heart to see the truth from both the angles. things have improved a lot since 1995 and people have much faith in indian army now. in the end they salute indian army for helping kashmiris during the recent floods. there was not much scope in the movie to show the genocide of kashmiri pandits but still there is a line in the movie which talks about them if you noticed. the movie never tries to sympathies with the militants. i know the #boycotthaider is gaining momentum and i predicted it way before in my review here at indicine but people should be mature enough to digest hard realities than shunning away from them.
and ya that mother-son cultural talk of yours…..i think you should have known something about hamlet before going for the movie. (i assume u have never read hamlet). i was very worried about how vishal bhardwaj will handle this issue for indian audience and i must say he handles it very carefully. hats off to him for that.

@arjun kapoor: there were never so much negativity at the time of yjhd,ce,d3 or kick. BB has clashed with a critically acclaimed movie like haider which comes under big production house like utv. . Many sites,critics,admins of fb pages like troll bollywood are continously Bashing bang bang. Bang bang release isn’t a festive release either. Btw, i am happy that hrithik’s performance has been praised by everyone. A brilliant actor can ensure brilliant performance and HR has proved his brilliance. A superstar can ensure good opening and HR has proved it with the hype and 28 crores opening despite clash,less no. of screens and shows,cricket match and durga puja. Agreed, contentwise, bb is an average movie. But all the 4 movies you mentioned are average too.. Bang Bang is definitely better than ce. .
Harder is the best movie of the year 2014,period. Everyone should watch this fantastic movie.
