In it’s third year, ETC Bollywood Business Awards has announced categories and nominations for the year 2012. The awards show, with categories like Best Distribution and Promotion, Best Film Marketing, Highest Single Day Collections, Most Profitable Actor/Actress/Director, is different from some of the other popular award shows.

New categories this year include Most Profitable Debut Male and Female, Best Music Company of the Year and Most Successful Music Director.

The nominations for the top grosser include Ek Tha Tiger, Rowdy Rathore, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Agneepath, Barfi, Dabangg 2. In the running for the Most Profitable Actor (Male) are Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, while Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Asin, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor have been nominated for the Most Profitable Actor (Female) title.

It is a very close call for the Most Profitable Debut (Male) category as Ayushmann Khurrana, Arjun Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Prithviraj are nominated. Diana Penty, Alia Bhatt, Ileana D’cruz, Yami Gautam and Esha Gupta compete with each other in the Most Profitable Debut (Female) category.

The competition in the top grossing director category is between Kabir Khan for Ek Tha Tiger, Prabhudheva for Rowdy Rathore, Lt. Yash Chopra for Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Anurag Basu for Barfi!, Arbaaz Khan for Dabangg 2 and Karan Malhotra for Agneepath.

ETC Bollywood Business Awards 2012 / 2013 also bring categories which are usually not a part of any awards in the industry including Box Office Surprise of the Year, the nominations for which are Kahaani, Vicky Donor, English Vinglish, 1920 Evil Returns and Oh My God!

Another example of innovative awards is the Most Profitable Banner award for which Eros International, UTV Motion Pictures, Yash Raj Films, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Fox Star Studios and Dharma Productions are in the race.

The show includes categories like best Film Marketing, Distribution and Promotion, Best Cinema chain of the year, Highest single day collection, Most profitable Actor/Director.

The ETC Business Awards 2012 will be telecast on January 5th 2013 at 7 PM on Zee ETC.

  • One n only ShahRukh is going to win the award for most profitable actor.. Salman had a good chance with ETT but the flop Dabangg2 has dented his chances big time.

  • jthj collected 72cr in overseas and ett collected 59cr in overseas and d2 wil surely collects mini 60cr too so overseas award also go salman itself haha….

  • Dabangg 2 has raked in Rs 108.37 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the (7 days) first week and its breakup is Rs 21.10 cr on Fri, Rs 19.06 cr on Sat, Rs 25 cr on Sun, Rs 12 cr on Mon, Rs 16 cr on Tue, Rs 8.12 cr on Wed and Rs 7.75 cr on Thu. For a non-holiday Friday release, it is a record-breaking collection and the movie has set a new record at the Box Office.

  • @star, ga…, Dabangg2 is already super hit and marching towards Block buster. where as Jthj was flop but saved due to death of Yash chopra. SRK and his films are only flop to average, where as ATBB Salman khan has consecutive Blockbusters and ATBB.

  • As of now the highest grosser is undoubtedly Ek tha tiger,most profitable actor is Salman khan for the combined worldwide gross of ek tha tiger 330 crores + dabangg 2 1st week 179.50 crores = 509.50 crores,most profitable actress is sonakshi sinha with 3 movies in the 100 cr club in India itself in 2012,profitable male debut is ayushman khurana,female is diana penty,top grossing director is kabir khan,surprise hit is oh my God and last but not the least the most profitable banner will be dedicated to yash raj films on the demise of late yash chopra.
    This is fix & final.No chances for any change.Mark my comment.

  • No place for so called numero uno Aamir Khan or his Talaash. Even Ranbir Kapoor trumped him badly. This just shows what he is without remakes, holiday release dates, franchise sequels or films which milk social issues. He’s some top star only in his few fans dreams otherwise he’s nothing!

    Now he needs YRF and multistarrer Dhoom franchise to revive his sagging fortunes!
