One of the legends of Indian Cinema passed away last week in London and celebrities went all out on social networking sites like Twitter, mourning his loss.
But shockingly, when Dev Anand’s funeral took place in London, not a single known personality from Bollywood was present.
Apart from friends and family, members of Dev Anand’s fan club and his fans from all over London were present at the funeral. Some of his closest friends in the industry Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Jackie Shroff too didn’t make it to the funeral.
A legend like Dev Anand who worked in the industry till his very last days, certainly deserved a better farewell.

Dear Dev Anandsaab
You don’t need any more recognition and you are special in the eyes of your fans.
It doesn’t matter if Bollywood is too busy to attend your funeral but your fans will always love you. May you be happy in heaven. Love from your fan

That were the crocodile tears.true face of bollywood
@indicine,can u remember,i said it wen u posted wat d celebrities said on twitter concernin dev’s death…i said all what they all said is not 4rm deir heart…sharukh sayin d industry is dead witout dev den if he really meant it why didn’t he attend d burial ceremony…some ppl jst wants little fame by writin on his death…their writin is not genuine…if these continues in bollywood…i pity bollywood… My prayers is d industry shouldn’t scatter…everybody should start prayin 4 peace in bollywood unless….
Its only crocodile tears from the otherwise purely selfish Bollywood. Did the bigwigs really mean what they tweeted? The greatest Bollywood legend who gave his entire life to Indian cinema obviously deserved better respect from the members of the present bollywood fraternity.
I loved Dev Saab right from my childhood and I never missed an opportunity to see any of his films. He was indeed a DEV in the right sense of the term who provided ANAND to my heart.
DEV SAAB what if Bollywood neglected you. Your fans like me are always with you I LOVE YOU DEV SAAB
We truly miss Dev Anand. We grew up with his movies, songs and his style of romance. Here is a little verse in his memory that I would like to share:
Dev Anand our evergreen idol is no more
Leaving behind the yester year memories galore;
He symbolized romance and music that now stands still
The void and gap will sure be difficult to fill!
So fans of the old times from his treasures let’s distill
And sustain the legacy of his pyar, mohhabat and dil!

If u cared so much.. why didn’t you attend the funeral.. why didn’t ur mallu attend it?
what were the comments of DilipKumar?
I did not see it anywhere…!
He is evergreen star and actor.
I went to his funeral with my wife and stood there out side the hall and watched funeral ceremony on TV in very cold weather for 2 hours.I live in Mitcham, not very far from Putney Crematorium.
I grew up with his movies and especially songs. In my opinion, his most entertaining film was JOHNY MERA NAM and the best fim was GUIDE . Dev Anand, Mohamad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, S.D.Burman and Shankar Jaikishan ,none of them are in this world today, but their songs and memories will always be with us. We dont care if none of the Bollywood stars were there or not. DEV SAB’s fans, friends and relatives were there to pay him the last respect. I am sure that what DEV SAB wanted.
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
Naren
At least Dev Anand had a good send off from his close family/friends and also his fans, stuff the bollywood idiots, they did that to Parveen Babi aswell, they are only there when you are worth something, and no where to be seen when you no longer have a recognition in the industry or pass away.
May his soul rest in peace. xx
Just wondering: Ive got a question for you all. What if they family didnt want attendees or media distracted with other celebs there? You never know: maybe they didnt want to put off the attention to who came and who didnt. Anyways, perhaps the celebs did visit but prior to the funeral, or after. I mean if I were the wife of a popular actor, I would not invite celebs to attend (but i wouldnt tell them not to either). It makes sense.
