In recent times, remaking South Indian hits in Hindi has emerged as the shortcut to success at the box office. The idea of remakes allows for the story to be adapted into a new setting, to be marketed to a new audience, after being customised for their needs. Why risk an original script that may not work when you’ve got a blockbuster script at your disposal that has a higher chance of striking a chord with the audience?
The influence of South Indian cinema on Bollywood and vice-versa was always there, but the trend of South Indian remakes in Bollywood has quickly reached exponential proportions with the huge success of Ghajini in 2008. By the time Salman’s Wanted stormed the box office, every other superstar was scrambling to acquire the rights of South Indian blockbusters.
Since then, several remakes have struck box office gold. But which is the best official South Indian remake in Bollywood in the past 5 years (including Ghajini)? Vote now

Ghajni bestest
wanted all the way
awsm mvie to watch again n again
Ghajini..after that singham..but i dont value south remakes bcs they are copy paste movies..
WANTED
18th September 2009, a day I would never forget. Stepping in to watch a evening show at a premium multiplex, I realised to my horror that the auditorium was barely 30%-40% occupied. The film was ‘Wanted’. A Salman Khan starrer no less. And even though the mass centres (especially single screens) had picked up with weekend throwing up some good numbers, multiplexes had a different story to tell. Well, to begin with at least.
This was also the time when reassurance from veteran filmmakers like David Dhawan (Partner, amongst others), Satish Kaushik (Tere Naam) and Boney Kapoor (No Entry, Wanted) had started coming in.
‘The film would do wonder on Eid, you would see’ – I remember them telling me in unison!
Of course GHAJINI…Needless to say it again but this is the fact that AAMIR Khan sets the rule, others only follow it….BTW GHAJINI is the only ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER movie among all these remake stuffs…
again Salman khan’s movie leading the poll..oho he is everywhere at top
LOL more than half is Salman films……copy king salman
Ofcourse wanted yaar that is the best movie of my life you don,t believe me but i watch wanted 11times in theatres.wanted redifine action in bollywood i was never saw that type of actions in hollywood also.
salman the undisputed king of south remakes.
Only one king bollywood whose name is salman khan king of king.
All films are nice.
Its hard to pick single.
Remakes give benefit to there original writers once more.
But if you copy others specialy some guys are Hollywood copy cats then it hearts there original authers.
So its need to stop unofficial copying.
Please pay something to the owners & buy remake rights.
Wanted and Rowdy.
Some guys r saying that bhai is remake king….then just look at akshay kumar previous starreres films especially with director priyadarahan and also priyadarshan all films in hindi r south remakes….if bhai r working which r south remakes …then why r others heroes r not working ?
Rowdy rathore is best why they include craps like bodyguard and wanted
Aare pritam pyare rowdy is the best.
First comes Ghajini then Wanted. These two remakes i think are best than others..
1.Ghajini- for an exceptional script, mind blowing performances( though aamir is one of the greatest actors in bollywood, surya’s acting in the origingal was better than aamir’s), fantastic music (guzaarish song is one of the greatest ever works of a.r.rahman), superb direction and ofcourse for starting a new trend and a chapter in bollywood
2.wanted for meticulous script, for stylished, slick & excellent action, for dialogues, for being one of salman’s better performance(though mahesh babu was better), popular music, great direction.
3.rowdy rathore- for fantastic script, for innovative, creative, detailed and outstanding action, for akki’s one of the best performances so far (though should say ravi teja was more suited than akki for this role), for dialogues, for catchy and popular music and for superb direction.
4.singham- for very good script, for ajay’s excellent performance, for fantastic action, for good direction.
Wanted & Partner are the only Salman Khan films I liked recently. I didn’t see ETT. Dabanng was very ugly, just better than Raone. The action scenes of SRK in Don 2 & Saif in Agent Vinod are good. The action scenes of Hrithik in Dhoom 2 & John in Force was good. Aamir was also good in Ghajini. RR is not Akshay’s best. But in action Akshay is the best.
rowdy rathore because akki did not use body double like salman
only rowdy rathore
akki h bwood ka rowdy rathore
Proud to be SRKian, no film of him in the lest and still he is best #power
@ARQAM,we don’t want to talk about Billu
Wanted.ready.bodyguard are my favourite movie
sab salon ne salman ki copy ki hai uniform pahen kar aur much laga kar… wanted jaise action to aaj tak nahi hue bollywood main..
Although I don’t like the idea of remakes but my list would be –
1.Ghajini
2.Wanted
3.Rowdy Rathore
4.Singham
5.Bodyguard
6.Ready
7.Force
Be honest yaar wanted, gajni and sigham r good movies others are fake action, fake dialoge.fake story…..only threee are good story.action and performance…..
Wanted release at the time of salman carrer dark face if wanted release today than it’s collection more than 250 cor.in india only rember that this movie imp.in salman car.as oxygen……
After wanted every equation salman movies change nd from that days to till salman sign all action movies and 2 to 3years he reserv for action cum other…….ya v accept that ajay, akshay etc are action hero of bollywood.but today all actor doing action due to salman only above both r now following salman that’s power of salman bhai
The badshah of bollywood king salman.
